Original Goblin DFC from 2012 flying in 2020

My old school Goblin - DFC model from 2012, original DFC head, narrow motor belt, main gear. The only change is update to new style landing gear as I don't like the look of original CFK one.
Futaba 452/251 6V servos, Scorpion 4525 Ultimate, Kosmik 200, NEO/VBC, Rapids 710mm and EDGE 115mm.
3738g without battery, 5293 with mylipo 12S 5200.

Servus Michal, geiler Flug. Was ist das für ein Sound bei 04:05 - 04:07? Hört man immer mal wieder. Ist da ein Lager verschlissen oder sind das die Blätter?

Ist eher das interne Mikrofon der Kamera. Die Windgeräusche sind oft zu hören, was deutet daran, dass wir an dem Tag den externen Mikro mit Deadcat nicht benutzt haben. Der Wind kann audio clipping verursachen, so hört es sich für mich an.

Hi Mr.Michal bencur. I would like to know what is value cyclic you use on Dfc Goblin. My Goblin630 use 9.2 degree. I need to adjust more fast roll. But afraid about to much cyclic that cause of boom stike. Thank you

Hi, I use NEO, which requires 8 degree cyclic setup. The agility is set up with, well, agility parameter.

That was some confident, impressive flying! How do you think the model compares to modern Goblins in the air?

Thanks Javier, well this is the very first Goblin produced, SAB released the upgraded Competition soon after. Original Goblin uses a narrow motor belt which works fine for smooth flying but can fail easily in hard 3D. More troublesome had been the main gear, which especially on warm summer days didn't make it. We used upgrades by LYNX, but I had issues with those as well - until SAB released the current version of the main gear. Honestly, I wouldn't want to fly this Goblin in a hot summer. Regading the DFC head - I actually really like it, precise, hard dampening, but it requires to keep an eye on it and possibly replace the linkages over time. Many ppl think it's been a source of boomstrikes which I can't support, I never had a boomstrike on any Goblin. Overall if I don't fly extremely hard with this model, it works great for me. The only problem are the servos, they just lack both power and speed I'm used to from my other helis. I have a modern HV set somewhere here, so I might replace these and see how it works.

Michal Bencur thanks for the info! Sounds like you shouldn’t press your luck. Although your flight was not pro smack it was very proficient and at times hard, keeping the heli in motion and doing some nice maneuvers and transitions. Maybe your servos are ok so as not to keep pushing the model too hard. It’s a classic and would be better kept in one piece :)

@@michalbencur Ok, because on 8V they are really cool! Daniel Wiedenmann gave me this hint. I changed my Jive 80HV on the TDR in order to achieve this. It went from drunk cow straight to agile dingo ;-)
