Well researched video! Here in Australia the Morris Minor 1000 was not sold after 1963 but the info is still helpful to restorers here.

Thanks! I will be posting many more videos as restoration proceeds. BTW - do you ever see any of the Morris Majors down there?
@michaelhalsall56843 жыл бұрын
@@motorphile9817 Most of the Australian built Series 1 & 2 Majors have vanished from our roads, the only survivors are in the hands of collectors and restorers. A small number of MM 1000 survive on the roads , most now are in the hands of enthusiasts and collectors, where they have a "cult following".

i found out the other day the reason why the engines were painted green was that there was that much green paint left over from the war and it was cheap ...

one point I learnt when restoring my morris minor pickup, was that the Generator is black where it sits next to the engine block but was sprayed green after it was put on in the factory, so there is a band of black on the inside curve where the spray paint couldn't get at it.

Interesting! Does not surprise me - and I wonder if others with very original engines have found the same.

I wish manufactures would adopt the old style of car design i.e. long bonnet with engine in front and rear wheel drive

Very Interesting video.I have a 67 4 door but the engine no doesn't tally with the Log book ( in uk).Log book is 10MA-U-273837 .Engine in car 10MA-U-311795.not original engine.
