enjoyed the video. as someone mentioned.. all things should be taken into account.. box, manual, cart condition and if the original game came with other inserts.. but in my opinion I would take the average of the 4k and 13k.. and then you can say your 72 game collection is worth at least 8.5K.. thats how I would do it!

Hey Linda! So I responded already on Twitter, but I think my point about the condition being a major factor in the value of these games is still relevant - however, to be a bit more precise, it depends on the condition of *all* parts of the CIBs (box, cart, manual, and any additional inserts such as posters or registration cards) along with the particular variant, and that variant factor applies to the sealed games, as well. Just as one simple example, I can see that Clu Clu Land is a matte sticker print, but Mike Tyson's Punch-Out appears to be 2nd print (or later) because it has orange bullets instead of white. The other one I think you need to know more about to get a solid estimate is that original Legend of Zelda - if it has the "cassette" manual, it's definitely going to be worth much more than any online price guide will tell you - to the right collector, anyway. ;) If you want to go over everything in more detail, I'd be happy to tell you what I know within the boundaries of my current knowledge. ;) I can also help try to connect the dots to others who may know more about these than I do if we run into something that I can't provide a relatively confident estimate on.

All great points. Most that I was not aware of. I bought just to play with my nieces and nephews. I wish I had been a bit more intentional in my purchases. Can't have it both ways. Being too intentional would have taken the fun out of it.

@@lindaguillory7802 Oh, agreed. ;) You buy what you love, then find out years later what's valuable and maybe almost wish you'd loved different things. :p But still, very cool items as they are. ;) On that note, I would say that some of these are probably quite valuable, so I wouldn't trust any price guide out there because very few (if any) can accurately account for the variants. You may have individual games worth thousands, so I would seriously consider learning more about each one, or at least focusing on the ones with known rare variants and seeing what you may have in that regard before parting with any of it.

The extra inserts/posters, etc. would bump up the value from the value. Also, if the majority of your games are in good to mint condition, that demands a premium. Given all that, I'd just go with the $13k value unless you want to take the time to evaluate each one at a time. Very nice collection!

I may take a look a few of those this weekend. I think I was pretty thorough, but I was also frugal. Lol.

Not sure I'd sell my childhood for 10k. But there will come a point where you can't take it with you. Unless you literally put it in the will to be buried with your treasure.

I definitely was considering all options before I was talked off the ledge. Not making any moves soon. However, as I age I want to get my collection in a museum/good hands. I was informed from my top museum that they are not looking for NES cartridges. That kind of means there's no real reason for me to keep since my first love are vintage handhelds.

The original Nintendo NES is so iconic. I’d imagine the right buyer would easily pay the $10K to get it all. But I wonder if together or separately actually gets the most value for you.

I'm sure separate would produce more, but it also takes more time. Got some great advice from Reddit user (thanks David). He talked me out of selling my complete collection. I've tried to get most of my games put in museums, but it is not working out, so I was going to downsize.

If the condition is really good then it's worth more than Pricecharting in many cases

Hi Linda. I'm afraid I won't be of any help here. It would pain me to let go of those. I work at a thrift store and when I see collections donated my eyes start to mist.
