Shiny engine bay, like it was rolled off the assembly line. :) The F&F movies were a mixed blessing in many ways. With the first few being released, we car fans were spoiled ... then eventually disappointed with the shift in tone. Police started getting very citation happy and would pull over many people driving a car that wasn't a boring color. Red car going the speed limit? Doesn't matter. Woo-woop!

This is so cool and brought back many old vibes. I am 39 years old from NJ and also had DSM in the same era. Although mine was a 2g n/t in Kalapana Black, it was still a fun car to own. When he mentioned Sprint Springs, what a throwback I had thought people forgot about them. I remember opening the Nopi magazine and it was either those or Dropzone springs. I can also relate his feelings towards body kit. Mine had a full Bomex Body kit that kept falling apart... I gave up on the car after a couple years and had gotten a new Srt-4.... My current modified cars are now an Audi B5 S4 and a W124 Benz... I am looking for a Eclipse again just to relive those moments.. but plan on keeping it clean. I wonder if we ever spoke at one point on DSMtuners back then ..... - Small World -

I wanted to say that I really liked this video! It brings back so many memories of owning my 97 GSX back in this era. I've actually gotten onto some Facebook groups trying to find my old GSX but have hit dead ends. Miguel, I know you are big into this community. Is there any chance I could maybe share some info about my car to see if you you'd have any luck asking around? I'd really love to find my actual car and if it's still in one piece, maybe even try to get it back!

I’ve been on the same boat as you trying to find my dads old 96 GSX. Never to be seen again. With how old these cars are getting, the harder i find it possible to find them. Your best bet is checking the last owner location on the car fax and checking the local dsm group of that city

I inherited my dads 1997 eagle talon TSI AWD about a year ago after it had sat for a few years not running. I just had the motor rebuilt with a balance shaft delete. Best thing is, he kept the entire exterior OEM and I intend to keep it that way.

How did he finance a $30,000 car at 17? You have to be atleast 18 to sign any legal contract and even at that have established credit... I know because I tried this when I was 17 with a 97 GSX and was told to take a walk 😂🤣

Hahah right! I had my moms fiance it for me! They look at me at the first dealership and said NOPE! 2nd dealer allowed me to test drive it! I had the job and the money to make the payments. Moms had the great credit! :) Thanks for watchin!

@@Clint_tha_great in my channel I do mention my mom had to help me finance it. I had a job at Costco at the time that help cover the payments. I just didn’t have the credit to buy a car like that. FYI: I didn’t have wealthy mom, she was smart with her finances and credit. She worked 10-12 hrs day at her job too. For those who wanted to know!🤦🏻‍♂️ Lol

I’d do the same for my kids if they ever needed it. I know all about having parents working 10-12hr shifts.. my mom would leave before the sun comes out and be home after it’s down. Beautiful car btw.
