Idk why but I would never have the heart to buy a little girl an American girl doll. They’re too precious to be played/tampered with and far too expensive 😩

back in the day, I bought my own with my allowance. I will have to say in the 80s they were TOUGH dolls. Totally held up to play and carrying around town, but I was OCD with her hair. Nowadays, the quality isn't the same since they were bought by Mattel.

Is that a white-bodied Samantha? She is stunning! How did the salon staff react to your vintage girl? I live in the UK but if I ever get a chance to go to a store I am for sure going to take my white bodied Molly. I would love to see if anyone noticed!

Yes, it is! Thank you for noticing! There were a few staffers that had never seen such an old doll; they commented on her blush, lip color, and lighter hair color. Not to mention the no-longer-made dress! I would love to see your Molly and hear about her!

Aww thank you! The white body dolls are stunning, even if I have only seen one. I got her as a TLC doll on ebay but her hair was just slightly dry (much better than my tan body Molly's hair) and she had a stain on her cloth body, but you can't really see it, it is very faint. So I rescued her and am so glad I did, she is stunning.

My Samantha spent 20 years in my house in her cranberry Xmas dress - sad to say the satin stained a small portion of her spine, but still in excellent shape. I'm so happy to hear how you found her!

I love this! The next time I go, I will take my WB Samantha. But NEVER ask them to pierce her ears. I pierced my JLY and some of her cotton got into her head. That snagged the drill and when it pulled out made the hole too large for the earrings!!! YIKES. They were so good about it and replaced the doll right away. AG has THE BEST customer service. I would have been crushed had it have been one of my 80s dolls. I love that it is perfectly fine for us to walk in there as a customer. I do have an 8 year old daughter that "likes" AG. But it is mostly me.

I have a tan body Molly circa ‘95 had her ears pierced a few weeks ago at the Columbus store and she was fine. I did have a customer service person around my age so she was telling the other girls that for PC dolls to leave the earrings in longer because the vinyl is softer. Waiting for her to come back restrung from the doll hospital. She’s not in pristine condition so I’m not worried about value in the future. I wasted that worrying over Barbie’s that aren’t worth what I paid for them.

She’s to pretty :D watching all Sam videos since yesterday I bought a white body Sam. Very TLC hair but other then that gorgeous lol. And she was dirt cheap the girl had NO idea what she was selling and just thought it was a damaged doll :p
