The ending reminding us that the critters were once kids. They aren’t no longer by the time the game starts since it has been ten years but damn seeing them writing to Santa, with Catnap being the only child whose story is known to explain how ended up believing so hard in the prototype. They were all once kids who had it torn and turned into something else. This song so cute and hopeful but also so very very sad.

One person made this guy's...ONE guy made this fantastic masterpiece. The music, art, voices, literally every single thing about it and it was all ABSOTOOTLY PEAK. Bro don't even get me started on that animated intro, was not expected that whatsoever and man was it nothing but a delight. Like you really went above and beyond for this, all the art and different styles for each character's part of the song. Just *chef's kiss* what else is new though right? Can I just gush about how they're all drawn for a second like idk what it is here but they all look more chubby and even MORE adorable than they already were!! Bruh how is that even possible!?! DogDay just wishing for him and Santa to sit down and have a chat is too sweet, like bro doesn't want anything more than just a nice conversation with the big man, enjoying some cookies, askin how his day is, now that's good ol double D for ya. Makes sense he'd really admire Santa as yeah he does bring smiles to everyone just like how DogDay wants to. Omg Bubba's section haha, I loooove the whole chalkboard style with him trying to wrap his head around how Santa could possibly be real and how his sleigh and everything even works. All his notes are so funny, coming to the conclusion that scientifically there's just no way any of it can be real. He really is a "seeing is believing" kind of guy like he said in his Critter Costumes vid. As some say Bubba, magic is just science ya don't understand yet. Awee dude Crafty being shy to continue the song then having Bobby reassure her is so adorable, I can't get enough of their "mother daughter" like dynamic. Her whole section was sooo amazing too, the music, the whole papery artistic style with the different letter fonts and colors aaaah it's all perfect! I see what you did there though with her saying she wants a new brush and having the text be red lol, I see ya with the reference. Crafty wanting a magic brush to just paint all the cute stuff she would like to be real is also so perfect like OFC she'd want that, living a magical life she could make. Even after all that she's still content with just getting a basic chalk to draw with...TELL ME SHE'S NOT THE CUTEST SWEETEST LIL ANGEL MAN~ That little message with "Love Bobby" on it was just the cherry on top to end that section my gosh, you're literally gonna make me explode with cuteness hdehhddh. Bobby continuing on with the sweetness just wanting to keep Santa company, give him a big bear hug and help him with his load of gifts. Girl has the purest of hearts without a doubt, I love how you can just perfectly see the type of people they are in these wishes. This is just Bobby through and through, wanting to make sure no one's alone or without friends. And as expected Hoppy and Kickin are just competing to see who's wished for the better gift and who will reach their dreams first lol. Her wanting a rocket to reach the stars, perfection once again with another reference. Wonder what Kickin's ultimate dream is, he definitely does look cool in a race car though hah. Omg Picky, PICKY. C'MON YOU WERE JUST DOING GOOD WITH THE WORKOUT IN THE PALLY THE PAL PREVIEW, DON'T GIVE IN NOW!!! Well I guess it is the holidays and it's okay to splurge every once and a while but still you're going kinda overboard with that giant land of candy wish. Least she remembered a tiny bit of fruit with the cherry pfft. I wonder if she actually likes fruit cake. Hoooo boi, going right into CatNap's section which are always interesting. And not just because of his smooth rizzy voice which ofc is amazing ahem, but also what he says. Now obviously from the very start and end this video is referencing the official game lore which I know I already said this but MAN idk how you did it but the realistic looking parts with the TV and CatNap plush next to it, the entire room there looks EXACTLY like the game. I don't think it could look more official, like you flat out just took it from one of the trailers. The TV showing all the orphans who were unfortunately subjected to Playtime Co's horrible experiments with only Theo's face being uncensored cause he's the only one of them who's story we know overall...and at the very very end you hear Poppy saying "wake up" like in chapter two. People have said this a bunch already but Mob would only be gaining a super duper talented lad by hiring you like you NAILED those parts. You nailed every single bit and detail about this video. I get the vibe that this is canon to that "Poor Unfortunate Souls" video. I could be wrong on some of this, but from my understanding CatNap's words here are like his game monster self's conscience. He says Christmas is the time of year he feels the most conflicted because y'know it's a cheery holiday about giving and it makes him wonder if he would be doing the right thing. Making all of them serve the Prototype like him and cutting ties with DogDay. In one of the "Twelve days of Playtime" pictures Mob had on Twitter, it was one of DogDay saying he was unconditionally loyal to the Prototype and that it must've been a matter of "keeping your friends close and your enemies closer" possibly hinting that DogDay did accept serving like CatNap but was faking it. Later he was found out and that's when they cut his bottom half off and hung him on the wall as an example. CatNap at this point is unsure of himself, saying his choices were for "renovating" I see that as like renovating their lives from being subjected to experiments. He wonders if he should just leave everyone alone, hide himself, or if he should lead them to "live with the cards they're dealt" essentially the only (to him) sensible option that's even possible with how their lives are now. "They have to believe" like believe in the Prototype and the way out that will come from following him. "Or they'll never see the sights their meant to see" like if they don't then they won't ever see their dreams that they DESERVE to see. CatNap ultimately cares about everyone, he knows that they're suffering and they only deserve the dreams they long for. And in the end, he decides he will be their guide...their guide to live their dreams. Other parts of the song also kinda hinted at this, with DogDay also wanting Santa to share something to believe in with him. "The meaning of hope is to wait and see" like how they both especially DogDay held onto hope for so long. And if you remember in the "Poor Unfortunate Souls" vid Bubba gave up on that hope. Bobby was too, but double D was still trying to hold onto it. Ofc all of Bobby's lyrics talking about being lonely and how it must be for Santa referencing her whole thing about hating being left alone. Every character talks about "living their dreams" and you did a phenomenal job with all the references to the game lore. It's all subtle but if you know where to look you can connect the dots, this is the one time of the year the trapped kids can wish for someone to make their dreams reality and take them out of the horrible true reality they were stuck in....CatNap certainly thought of the Prototype as Santa in this instance. Maybe that's what he meant by "Dear Santa, or whatever name you choose." I cannot begin to express enough how utterly AMAZING, this video is. The music is fantastic and fits each of the critter's portions, the visuals are top notch as always with your adorable drawings, this was fantastically written (I don't even know if "fantastically" is a word but it is now dangit), and everything from the little details to the game lore references were super duper well done. This is such a catchy song, so perfect Christmas tho obviously that was your goal haha. Dude you can make awesome music, animate and draw really well, voice acting, sing and sing in 8 DIFFERENT VOICES, write freaking banger songs, what CAN'T you do!? Thank you SO so much for making this for us and while you're still working on Pally the Pal and other stuff probably as well. You always put in that grade A++ effort and work and I couldn't be more grateful. Merry Christmas ya bright glistening Gem and may you and everyone else have a very happy new year!!

I instantly gave it a deeper thought after you mentioned it and it just clicked, that's such an amazing little detail! See what do I keep saying, you are the master of details hah. That gives even more meaning to CatNap's portion as he's looking up at the moon as he says "dear Santa"...a similar looking moon that had the Prototype's hand in it in a picture with CatNap ya did a while back. @@chrange9714 THIS. I'ma write another essay rq, and I feel like this needs to be said, so I encourage anyone reading this to please read to the end. I haven't left a comment here since this first uploaded, but now I'm shooting myself in the foot at the fact that I didn't see the whole picture sooner like how you did. Though, I have to give my own opinions and views on the matter. After MUCH self-reflecting, I came to the conclusion that the reason the game is mentioned at all in this video is because CatNap's section of the song specifically serves a double purpose and has a double meaning. He is conflicted between choosing one of 2 choices. Both in the show and in the Poor Unfortunate Souls canon. In the show, he feels lonely, and that he should be doing more to be there for his friends. So, he's conflicted on either continuing to isolate from his friends, silently observing, judging, and studying them, keeping them out of trouble if necessary while continuing to "renovate" himself (and probably his mental state), or breaking free from his isolationism, branching out to his friends, "renovating" THEM, and to be their "guide in the night to achieving their dreams". I find that last fact highly fitting for CatNap. He knows that he is extremely vital to the friend group, and that without him, everything would go to crap in due time. The Critters need CatNap more than they know and vice versa, and I hope that soon, one way or another, they'll learn that truth for themselves. We should all know by now what CatNap is conflicted about in the PUS canon. I like to think of Poor Unfortunate Souls as an Alternate Universe within Gemstin's show. One which should be regarded as special and arguably vital, and to serve a special, arguably vital purpose. And that is to clear confusion on what exactly IS and what IS NOT canon regarding Smiling Critters, and to act as a bridge/buffer between SC and Poppy Playtime. Such confusion has enveloped inside of me as well, as you have probably seen for yourself. No offense, but I cannot express enough how much confusion needs to be cleared in this fandom. Anyways, that's all. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

I love how different the mentality of Catnap and the other critters are. The other critters still have their childlike mentality, which is show what they want, with them mostly being more childish things. Catnap on the other hand, is just going through existential dread. He doesn't know where to go from now and he wishes to Santa not for gifts, but just for some clarity on where to go now.

This was hands down, the BEST christmas song of 2024 I'VE EVER HEARD!!! 😄 The song was so Catchy! Cute! Creative! And at the same time pretty sad in some parts.. but none of the less! I really ENJOYED this song alot!! I really liked how you've truly emphasized how the critters would actually tell santa what they'd really want for christmas and such! The way they had sing was very beautiful and majestic! 🎵🎶 For Dogdays part, I loved how much he'd really want to chat with Santa about what its like bringing joy and happiness to all the children with his kind heart! For Bubba Bubbaphant's part, It would actually make a whole lot of sense seeing how much he really wants to feel aquatinted about how does Santas sleigh and probably reindeer would actually work and synthesize it very meticulously because of Bubba being the smart one here and wanting to know every possible detail of everything from the world around him! Then for Craftys part, first off, I absolutely love how Bobby was supporting Crafty before she started which I found pretty frickin ADORABLE!! Aghh! If only what Crafty had wished for was real!! Spreading your creativity around the world; using a single brush! I can very much see why CraftyCorn is your favorite character becauss I remember you specifying that in your first live stream! Because your both the most captivating artists of all time! Way to get me right back into the Christmas spirit after Christmas, this song is nothing short of a banger! I can only imagine how long all of this took but I and I know everyone else deeply appreciate and enjoy what you put it. Everything is always so high quality and has so much care put into it. Right on as always Gem.💎 That little animated bit was awesome, felt like a .5 of an episode and I love that. Just gettin me even more hype by the minute for episode 4 with Crafty. Speaking of her whole section of this somg and her all snuggled up in a blanket having some hot chocolate WITH a ponytail to boot just is melting my heart man. More than any hot chocolate could ever lol, she's just so preciooous. But at the same it just nakes me glare at Bubba more cause of..well y'know what happened in episode 3. I'm sorry but my grudge shall continue until an apology from him happens hmph. Every section of this song for each of them were done extremely well, not just lyric wise but visually too. Ah those darker hints with CatNap and the stuff at the beginning and end, makes me feel like this video in particular connects lore wise with that other one with CatNap singing a Little Mermaid song to the rest of the crew. Glad to know the main series of yours is spared, phew. Anyways I couldn't have been happier watching this and I thank you for making it! Completely unrelated but there's this video by Piemations called "How to be cool" and swapping out the bunny for Crafty and gator for Kickin is hilariously fitting, I could not get that out of my head after watching it lol.
