Original SplatFrog Promo (2003)

Very first attempt at traditional animation. The first "splatfrog" done with pencil and paper, digital ink and paint, then composited with Flash animated elements.

The story behind this one begins with a logo I had created for the band Toad the Wet Sprocket for a merchandise campaign I was asked to help design at the time. The frog graphic was one of the rejects, but I liked it, and decided he needed to be animated. Thus, the "SplatFrog" name was born.
One of the most fun parts was throwing wet towels against my shower wall to record "splat" sound effects! They've gone to good use many times over ;)
