thats luck. My xbox is modded with a different launcher so it was easy to put games on it, it has been working even after almost 10 years not using it. It was certain day I tried to test it and I got 2 errors; the first was the AV cable, it was in very bad conditions so I went to get one. The second was the DVD, at the moment I got the error I was like "oh, crap" but when I saw the code It wasn't a problem so I only changed it the same day I got the error. I really love this console bcs is like my childhood friend who teach me all this wonderful gaming world. If you guys still have one after these year it's a treasure

Error 06 is for your hard drive being locked with the wrong password. Error 07 is usually for a missing hard drive. Error 09 is for incorrect or missing hard drive parameters Error 11 is for your Xbox not detecting a CD drive (your CD drive could be dead if you get that error) Error 12 is for incorrect or missing CD drive parameters Error 13 is for your dashboard failing to load and your Xbox couldn't specify why it failed Error 16 is for a missing or dead clock capacitor Error 21 is for a corrupted dashboard error.

Fun Fact: The original Xbox was full of leaking capacitors. Including the clock capacitor. If you were affected with a leaking original Xbox clock capacitor, when dead, you'll get error 16. Error 16 is for a dead or missing clock capacitor. And that's why Error 16 is the most common error code.

Yes, endeed, that's a fact I got to replace the motherboard, powersupply, hdd, and even the dvd drive, power eject board, all fried because of an electric storm after i repaired the original motherboard with 16 code error and it shows error 12 after that i swap dvd drive, original dvd drive capacitors form the board, dvd drive power cable, eaven i put a pc dvd drive but nothing happens if its fried, its fried.

For the GRoD, the XBox wasn't displaying the word XROUTER2, it said XECUTER2. It was a modded XBox, and perhaps the mod was not installed correctly and it could have corrupted important data.

Me again! The GROD clip: You're spot on. However, the cause here is because the console was clearly modded, and whoever put in the chip did a terrible job. That was an instance of the modchip, commonly known as XECUTER2, failing and therefore bricking the console.

It's a hardmod, and likely custom bios gone wrong, if im not mistaken the flashing lights just say that there is something wrong with the hardware and that it needs to be sent to support. Its either a bad flash or failed hardmod

First off, at 1:52, it says "XECUTER2", not "XROUTER2". The Xecuter 2 is a modchip for the original Xbox, and as such could mean both things. A) The BIOS was flashed incorrectly, bricking the system or B) The modchip was improperly installed.

There is also a RRoD on the original Xbox with no video output. If you have modchipped a 1.6 (made in 2004 or later) Xbox it requires you to sever the so called "L trace" powering off the on-board BIOS ROM. If you start the Xbox with the L trace severed and no mod chip it reboots twice and you get the flashing RRoD. You can probably reconnect the L trace somehow but it is a massive pain.

There was another error which was caused by trying to connect to Xbox Live using a modified console (so you were able to play pirated games) which caused it to crash with a static red light, same green text screen but the entire text was Japanese Katakana - Another one is that trying to read a PAL disc on a modified Xbox caused artifacts on the game's interfaces and objects (Tested with French NFS: Most Wanted) - And another one that occurs while trying to connect to Xbox Live after the original Xbox Live support end, which causes a green text screen with a No Connection code

This brings back memories of when my family got a refurbished Xbox from GameStop.. the sucker would legit sound like a damn can opener anytime it tried to read a disk and 9 times out of 10 in would constantly crash. Once I repaired my boyfriend's original Xbox and changed thermal paste, I noticed melted plastic on each motherboards and 3 capacitors are also melting from the electrical circuit. Could be also the clock capacitor melting away, causing a lot of damages and even start burning the board! So there's my 3 main reasons (could be more) that flickering could happen : 1. Melted motherboard 2. The 3 capacitors below motherboards melting away 3. The clock capacitor melting and burning the board away

I got Error Code 07 before. It means the HDD is dead and needs replacement...like that's possible since the HDD is coded to ONLY work in your XBOX. So putting a replacement NORMAL HDD in it would result in Code 06 I think.

Answer to 1:53 That text (XECUTER2) means that the Xbox console has been modified. I bought myself a modchipped Xbox 2 weeks ago that can play burned DVD backups, and yes the samething also appears on my console. Long story short that text has nothing to do with that error.

Favourite og Xbox game would have to be Blinx: the time sweeper. It was basically a platform that you could control time in. Pause time, and enemies and moving platforms would stop. Fast forward and they'd move faster and you could rewind too.

I have one of these and I did a RROD prank on my brother. I found a picture of an error screen and put it on the TV, and unplugged the AV from the back of the Xbox. My brother obviously noticed that it was an orange light, but he saw the error screen and actually bought the joke and simply thought it was just broken enough to do the wrong color ring. He only bought the joke it until he reached down, turned off the Xbox, and saw that the screen didn't disappear because it was a video I paused.
