It was so simple back then. You plug in your console, hook up your controllers, gather some friends, put in the game, and you play. There were no microtransactions, or packs, or download wait times for games, or anything like that. Nowadays most things are online-based and have a paywall to get the most out of a game. I miss the old days. This makes me want to go out and get an original Xbox, some old games, extra controllers, an old box TV, gather some friends, get some snacks like Mountain Dew and Doritos, and _just play._

And yes, those were the glory days. Xbox had the best service and now console experience online is shite nowadays. I haven't bought a console since the 360 and PS3. Just stuck to PC since then.

Hahaha, aye, no worries buddy. This WAS a while back so it's funny to think it's already been this long. I will note, however, that it was a legendary start to multiplayer experience. It was a blast back in the day and it's exactly why multiplayer has been revolutionized through things lile Xbox Live (og). Now we've got Steam, Origin, and a ton of different services because of what Microsoft started.

Back when Xbox had an identity. I can smell the Mountain Dew and Doritos when I see this thing, it's the epitome of a true game console. Now Xbox just feels so corporate and lacks that identity it once had. It just feels like another Microsoft/Windows product, when it used to feel like its own separate entity/company.

It just shows how fast technology is evolving. Yet the compact disc remains the same. Gotta love a good old CD. I remember that strange noise in the background of the dashboard of the Xbox. With the ps4 and Xbox one I prefer the 1st gen. The ones with the touch buttons and light up panels. They then swaped them out for physical buttons and just a little led light. I prefer the light bar on the 1st gen ps4 than the slim with it's tiny light.

@@goxaviergo11 read it again. I prefer the 1st gen Xbox one and ps4 the ones released in Nov 2013. The 2st gen ps4 had a light bar across the whole console and touch sensitive buttons. And the 1st gen Xbox one (day one edition) came with Kinect and had touch sensitive buttons. I felt that the 1st gen's looked and felt more expensive than the slim versions. I liked the touch buttons and the light bar on the ps4
