In the credits of the first film, he's simply "Lead Cenobite." Also, in the book Pinhead isn't the leader and doesn't speak much. When he does, his voice is described as almost girlish and he's completely androgynous.

Barker also wrote The Scarlet Gospels, which pretty much destroys all of the Hellraiser/Hellbound Heart mythos and makes it a Catholic Danteist fantasy. Frankly, Pinhead sounds a lot better than Hellpriest.

Part of the appeal of the Cenobites in the original 2 films, was the fact that they had to follow a strict inflexible set of rules. Which is why I hated the 3rd film which just turned them into screaming slasher villain characters, and I never bothered with any of the films after that. The comics were cool though.

Yup, 1,2 and the newest one are the only ones that feel like it follows a thought pattern of what they wanted the cenobites to be. Cosmic dark angels for a dark god. The other films just turned them into freddy krugar

Bloodline (the 4th movie) was actually pretty good as well and the Cenobites behaved more like they are supposed. I never even saw the third film 🤣🤣

Here's a fun thought for the next time you play dungeons and dragons Planescape, Cenobites are the police of the city of doors Sigil, some are under Leviathan's command, some are under Lady of Pain's command. The cenobites who are under lady of pain's command enforce city laws and ordinances, while those who are under Leviathan's command search for violators who are not native to Sigil but are currently in Sigil or suspected of being in Sigil. Gruesome torment waits for those who break the laws of the city. Far worse fates wait for those who are searched for by Leviathan's cenobites.

Not to be an asshole, but seeing as the new one came out, you def did it as clickbait considering anyone who is a good fan of HR lore knows the basics you spoke of pretty much.
