Just a little thing I've been wanting to do for a while now. A showcase of the origins of some of Metallix's current sound library.
Heavy hitting SFX to really emphasize his cold and mechanical nature.

You have no idea how much this just helped me and so many other people on making metallix … thanks btw where did you find the other sound effects like the gun firing, the punching, dbz sound effects and etc?

The gun sounds are the M41A Pulse Rifle from Aliens Colonial Marines. I did want to add that to this showcase, but I couldn't find any good videos of it. As for the DBZ sounds effects, those are from TOEI animation. I suggest looking around for sound packs online.

I have to say, one of my favorite things about Metallix (compared to Turbo Mecha Sonic as well as standalone) is just how *chunky* he sounds. A man-sized robot packed to the ears with various weapons systems, a compact engine that runs on what's basically exotic matter, a sapient AI exceeding what multiple supercomputers could simulate, and plated with nigh-impregnable armor wouldn't be light and flimsy. Realistically, Metallix probably weighs over a thousand pounds at the bare minimum, and now he really sounds like it. He hits the ground like a meteor when he lands, his footsteps are slow and heavy with the exertion of moving hundreds of pounds of mass on every step, and when Yoshi landed those few hits on him, it really sounded like he was slamming his fists into something that he simply wasn't strong enough to break. It was less like he was punching an enemy and more like he was hitting a big heavy bell, or a gong, that was *designed* to take abuse and didn't even flinch at it. It really is great sound design. Not a lot of people probably say this, Mark, but you've improved so damn much from the days of the original SMBZ. The sprites being more motile and expressive is just the most obvious thing, but the audio, the tone, and the 'camera' work are all so much more professional, as well. I know most of your fans probably just say how much they love x and y, or they eschew feedback in lieu of just asking when the next episode will be out, but I really do hope you know that there's a bunch of us who understand and appreciate the amount of work that must go into this series, too.

SMBZ being part of my childhood and the creator himself actually plays Warframe (I have 3k hours in game) and uses the sound effects for the remake, this is so amazing to see as a grew-up individual :))

Pretty cool to hear! Though I did have one thing on my mind, Mark. OK, forgive me if this sounds like a rant, but Episode 2 of the original series (and Episode 1 of the reboot) featured Metal Bowser from Mario Party 2, right? Well, the way you went about Bowser gaining it makes absolutely no sense to me. I used to think the form was cool back then and I still do, but here's the thing: Bowser can turn into Metal Bowser whenever he wants. In Z, he has Kamek give him a Metal Shroom (an item from Mario Party 6, mind you) so he can gain it. This makes absolutely no sense to me because Bowser wasn't playable in Mario Party games until Mario Party 10 (in which he could only use items given to him by Bowser Junior) and he wasn't even on the roster of playable characters until Super Mario Party. And _neither_ game featured the Metal Shroom, by the way! I know Mario Party 10 & Super Mario Party came out long after Mario Party 6 and even *_WAY_* after Mario Party 2, but it's just so mind-blowing to me on how you could make the simplest thing the Mario Party games introduced insanely complex! Now granted, I know Super Mario Bros. Z is a fanmade sprite series and you don't have to stay true to the source material, but still!

Ok, Alvin Earthworm, you have yet to return a reply for months. The sound effects used in both the original and reboot series of SMBZ, are they available in *any Hollywood Edge or Sound Ideas libraries?* If so, then that will help to cut down my search list for sound effects. Cartoon Trax's "Funny Musical Beats" convinces me that the sound effects I'm searching for are out here! ...Somewhere! *My vocabulary in terms of sound effect names is very poor* and I need as much help to streamline my search time. Currently, I have "DBZ SFX" and "anime SFX" logged on my search list, but now that I listened to the entire library of The Cartoon Trax, I feel much closer to finishing this search sooner than later. But maybe not _that_ close.

This is such a new level of creativity. I 100% understand how stressful this is. You deserve so much credit, as I'm so excited for this series to keep going because your talented at storytelling as well as directing. Please don't push yourself to the point where it can lower your interest brother. Take all the time you need.

I mean this is cool and all but I have to ask, are you really making good progress with the series? It's been 2 years since episode 2. I know you're only one guy and you have high standards but if you hope to finish your series in this life time you might have to lower the bar for some things. I think you're afraid to disappoint people and set this unrealistic standard for yourself. You gotta think about how you want to go about this project, your strengths and weaknesses and try to work with some other people. I know you said you're not a good team player but if you really want to see this thing through to the end you either have to grind yourself to exhaustion like a manga author with an unrealistic deadline or find a small crew you can rely on and can try to produce episodes at least once every 6 months or once a year. Otherwise you might end up like me, with a bunch of ideas and dreams and promises but no time to learn and improve and watch it all die. I don't expect a reply and you don't have to but I hope you see this and really think about what you want from this project.
