Ah, the wonderful Fyfe Robertson. A great example of good old storytelling and a mesmering form of TV journalism, on a par with Alan Whicker. Charming, urbane, and infinitely watchable, whatever they're talking about.

Fascinating piece. Fyfe Robinson was a fixture on BBC Panorama in the early sixties. Mind you his script "Surprisingly, Irish discipline was perfect" seems to show that there was still a patronising attitude to Ireland back in the sixties.
