Been doing a re-watch of the series, am on season 2, and just finished the episode "Hollywood Babylon," and, little trivia for everyone, the stuff they have Brad the Corporate Guy say was all based on memos that the actual production team got from the higher-ups at The CW. Hell, there's a lot of stuff in that episode that almost boarders on prophetic. Like, for instance, Supernatural may have accidentally predicted Augmented Reality phone games?!

I think that everyone complains that Dean had a meaningless death, but if they would have made the penultimate episode a lot more climactic and had the final episode with Dean getting stabbed by a nail, they could have gotten away with it. I think since Dean was searching for his life to have meaning since season one and had the understanding that sacrifising himself for the world, or his family was the only way he could find it, I think it would have been a great character study, if we followed him thorughout the majority of the final episode coming to terms with how things ended for him, and finding peace with it, while Sam on the other side had to come to terms with the fact that his brother was gone. It would have been great if we saw more of him trying to move on, living a normal life, maybe a nice subplot of him finally finding a way to move on and find peace with his family. They could have made it a two hour long episode, so they could flesh it out a bit more.

The only thing good about this atrocity was the knowledge that Cas isn't in the Empty. The Empty had a grudge against him, and Jack pissed it off even more, I couldn't bring myself to think about how it would have treated our poor little Angel. Now I know seeing Misha and Alex would have been what we really deserved and what they really deserved after giving so much to the show and the fandom and it's a shame that we have to settle down for this halfcocked kneejerk ending to know the fate of Cas. Also Bobby is out of the prison, he gave everything for his boys and even after death he proved to be a better father than John had been in years. He knew what would come for him if he helped Cas and Sam but he still helped them because it was about one of his boys. I love that both of my favorite characters are in a better place.
