It's not really Xavi, it's club policy. Casadó's contract ends this summer and Barça has offered him an extension, even though they can do it unilaterally for one season. Apparently he doesn't want to re-sign, so they're not using him. I believe the staff see more potential on Pau Prim and Marc Bernal, also from the Academy and slightly younger than Casado, and they also want a solid short-term solution for that position. That means they don't offer Casado the money he thinks he's worth and they don't guarantee a spot on the first team, so he doesn't want to stay, and because of that they won't play him. Unless something changes, I think his contract will be extended but he'll be sold next summer.

What are you talking about, Casado is older than Gavi and is an incomparably better quality player in absolutely all segments of football, two levels above Gavi and Casado's passing game is the best in the entire Barca team, convincingly! He should have had a chance two years ago, this is a shame and the destruction of La Masia's most talented midfielder!
