One of my favorite foreshadowing is when they escape sentinel’s Guards after getting their Cogs, Orion tries to transform but just gets its head inside, sort of goofy moment. But after becoming Optimus Prime he uses that same move to avoid getting shot in the face by Megatron. This movie is amazing.

That’s what the matrix does. He has no clue what he’s doing or how he’s doing it but he’s adapting to the fighting styles of the Primes. His body looks like it’s doing half the stuff on autopilot but you can definitely see him understand why it’s happening and how to use it. To learn your hero is in fact a monster. I'd snap too. Now to go as far as D-16 did and became Megatron. I would not know. If being honest still. Most likely. Rage is just a powerful emotion and "Drug". D-16, self-proclaimed Megatron, was rather "High" on rage. He was not thinking clearly. And really the whole "I am not saving you, anymore." line. That just symbolizes that he was tired of weakness. Saving those weaker than him. If they were strong or even stronger than him. He would respect them. But in his current mindset. All bots are tools to be exploited. The weaklings shall be purged and only the strong remain. Anyone that become stronger than him. Even challenge and beat him. They deserve to lead. Protecting the weak is for chumps. His new mindset.

Name me what you will but seeing their frienship in that scene early in the movie when D-16 helps Pax hide in that huge box, Pax gifting him that Megatronus sticker made this hit so hard. Those damned chopped onions appeared out of nowhere. Also at the end of this fight when you see Megatrons sadness just sitting there silent. Like he just fully understood what he did and the betrayal of his best friend in the world. Best Transformers movie ever for me.

Brian Tyree Henry really out did himself with his incredible performance and his deep understanding of Megatron since always wanted to play the villains. Every villain is a hero of his and her own Story. D-16 is not only a product of Cybertron’s corrupted system and takes on Sentinel Prime’s oppression though violent means all the social injustices he had experiences forged his transcendence into Megatron and building up to a rivalry with Orion turned Optimus Prime (due to wanting the same goal of a unified Cybertron but have different viewpoints). But their friendship is doomed since they discovered that shocking realization their leader Sentinel Prime had sold out Cybertron to the Quintessons after betraying his fellow Prime brothers and sisters, and ruled his planet through oppression. D-16 has put too much faith in the system he has held on to until his worldview was shattered that boils up to anger and a personal vengeance after being suffered of the social injustices while Orion still kept his optimism by exposing the truth of Sentinel's corruption. Before entering the core of Cybertron, Orion is willfully sacrificed his life for the sake of his brother’s mortality but that effort is in vain. This what makes D-16 a much more of a compelling hero-turned-villain and tragic character in Transformers history. And the rift between two brothers. Both D-16 and Orion really wanted a unified Cybertron but each have different ways to bringing it into fruition.

Yea, when D-16 said he would never follow another "so called leader" ever again, it really was over for their friendship. There never was any chance of Orion as Optimus Prime reconciling with him-at least, not so soon after his killing of Sentinel.

Something I realized yesterday while watching this scene for the 8th time... Orion Pax tries in vein to stop D-16 from executing Sentinel because he believed that exposing his actions was enough, and tells him to not be like Sentinel. This escalates into Orion taking the hit from D-16's arm cannon, and D-16 leaving Orion to die in the depths of Cybertron. After that, D-16 rips Sentinel in half... and then takes his cog for himself... So in one way or another D-16 became, in Orion's words at <a href="#" class="seekto" data-time="426">7:06</a>... "just like Sentinel"

I'm really excited for the sequel. I felt like this Optimus design isn't quite as serious as I hoped and the voice leaves some to be desired but it's understandable that they want to show a younger optimus. I hope if we do get a sequel he'll have a more fitting voice and design to reflect his experience and such

You can tell Chris Hemsworth is following Peter Cullen's performance of Optimus especially at the end though, it's a nice transition. Like his voice in One is a young Orion Pax/Prime and you could say Cullen's Prime is when he has more experience under his belt
