12 tankbustas (all rokkits) and 4 bomb squigs rolling in a trukk is now a metaphor for freedom. What's happened to them in 10th edition is an affront to God and man.

In 8th, I used to “da jump” a unit and pop tanks reliably. Last edition I had 10 in a squiggoth and just wrecked havoc on the battlefield

As you are going through all the datacards again I feel it would be better if you also discussed their leaders that they can take including those from Legend and include how that effects their use in the detachments. I like the Big Mek with KFF in a dread mob - re-rolling hits of 1. Not so keen on a Mek leading them.

That was a beautiful eulogy, Stevo, the datacard might as well be this unit's headstone for now lol. Funnily enough, I actually remember some...6 years ago now or so, I was doing some research on how to kitbash this very unit and it was your video on tankbusta conversions that caught my eye and then i noticed your channel was ork-exclusive which isn't quite as common as one might think perhaps and that made me subscribe immediately, so just as per your sagely advice back then, i also grabbed about a dozen boyz and a ton of bits and made my own tankbustas that way. Here's hoping that sometime before this decade is out GW releases a new kit for this unit (but above all that they go back to the older and objectively better rules!), and while i can't believe I'm advocating for this right now because i consider it heresy, that they actually opt for a boring monobuild kit and it's all rokkits and no more pistols and such, just soup to nuts rokkits, that's it. Here's to the tankbustas, long live the tankbustas (at least the old ones lol) ! Good work as always, Stevo, cheers!

Sad part is that in 8th and 9th, you could only ever have at max like three Tankhammers and three Rokkit Pistols. When they inevitably get a new kit, let’s hope we get the options for all Tankhammers and having them armed with Rokkits pistols with a Rokkit Launcha, much like Space Marine squads with a special ranged weapon and a pistol.

Running 2 units them, In Da Big Hunt. With a bunch if squighogs and a unit of Kommandoz, I've got 9 bomb squigs on the board and my waagh! It clears a parking lot.

Hi Steeve, tankbustas needs an upgrade almost on choosing weapons. Btw where are the tankbustas bombs ? They were fun to use and very damn powerfull specially on boys!

Read the bomb squig rule again. There is nothing in there that says you can't use it twice in one phase, i.e. twice per battle 😉😉😉. That restriction belongs to 8th and 9th Ed. I put 10 tank bustas in a battle wagon together with 10 burnas and a mek. Play it conservative and when the opponent moves their tanks up tank bustas move out. Two units of 5 means 4 bomb squigs and a reluctans for the opponent to use overwatch. Perfect for my evil suns "Sun" wagon.

Disappointing to see Tankbustas don't get the "Grenade" keyword 😐 I always feel that any Ork unit with Grenades gets a nice boost to damage output, especially when it's been whittled down to it's last few models.

Personally, I’d still go for Killa Kanz with Rokkits for my Anti-Tank since you get 6 Rokkit Launchas with them. Tankbustas never really did it for me back in 8th or 9th because they would just die immediately no matter where I put them.

This one still hurts. My mob of tankbustas was one I had put the most love into, with everything converted from boyz. I would just need to build two tankhammers and one pistol guy to field two units, but I feel like I'm just going to be disappointed. Now my rokkit boyz show up in boyz mobz, ready to be the first to die as soon as close combat starts. RIP Edit: didn't realize a mek could join them, and I will be running dread mob quite a bit. It's a shame the mek only is boosting 5 of them though, as I'm still hoping for 6s on a tiny amount of dice getting tossed. 😕

Somewhat annoying that they fucked off all the finecast kits that actually saw use & kept this kit. Ought to have dropped a new kit for them instead of/in addition to the new big mek model. Regarding the bomb squigz my understanding is that there's nothing stopping you using both squigs in a turn. "Twice per battle, after this unit finishes a normal move,...." So you finish a normal move, then do it twice. So it's not all bad.
