Orlando May 2022 - Pre Travel Day & Travel Day

Hello and welcome to our channel! If you’re new here, a big warm welcome and we hope you enjoy our videos, this is our first time vlogging so please bare with us 😀
In our family, you have me Perry (Dad), Charlie (Mum) & our 2 kids Paige & Teddy. We love to travel and our second home is Orlando. We have visited here around 15 times and we love it. We hope one day it can be our forever home 😀.
IT’S FLORIDA TRAVEL DAY! Join us as we start our journey at Gatwick Airport, we are travelling with TUI to Melbourne International travelling Economy. It is our first time travelling into Melbourne so if you are planning to do this route then do give it watch.
Flight was very good and was 8hrs and 40 minutes. Food on the plane wasn't too bad either, the main meal was good which was chicken and cheese & tomato. Children's meal was chicken nuggets, potatoe tots and veg. For the afternoon snack it was Cream cheese roll with cucumber. This wasn't the best and there was nothing else for children to have.
Landing in Melbourne airport was brilliant, within 30 mins of landing we was in our car and ready to head to International Drive. We also managed to get ourself a free upgrade on our car to a standard SUV (Ford Edge). Travel time to International drive took us around an hour, we checked into our hotel (Rosen Inn International).
Once checked in we headed to Walmart to get some essentials.

Home2 Hotel on international drive would had been better for your family. Home2 Hotel had a kitchenette. Large size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, nice sink and covers. It’s right in front of universal resort. Great video.

Great Vlog, really enjoyable. I have spent many hours in that airport lounge (formerly Virgin Clubhouse) - we're heading to Orlando in November from Heathrow :) Hope you had a great time

Just a word of warning. The Wi-Fi in the hotel is terrible!

Oh really, was that the Rosen Inn International? We actually moved hotels after 6 days and moved to the Rosen Shingle Creek.

Are you asking about the Rosen Shingle Creek or Rosen Inn International? If its the Rosen Inn International then its not a hotel we would visit again, its a good hotel and for the price you pay its not too bad but for us there were a few issues which we had and because of this we would rather pay the extra and stay at the Rosen Shingle Creek.

@@_TheHamiltonFamily Thank you. Yes. It looks so quick and stress free. OK the transfer/driving time is longer, but we have been known to be in a line at MCO for an hour just waiting for immigration.

Before we had kids we liked to try other places but at this moment of time we like to stick to Florida just because there is something for us all there 😊

Thank You, Hope you enjoy our content :), Melbourne is brilliant, highly recommend it and would rather travel to there than MCO. Yes it was a standard SUV, We had booked a full size but they upgraded us free of charge when we collected the car. We booked our car through Alamo and used www.discountfloridacarhire.co.uk

@@_TheHamiltonFamily I've seen lots of posts on The Dibb mention DFCH but they haven't beaten Alamo Brits for me yet. Do you still get to go straight to garage if you book with DFCH?

@@vickydavies1127 Yes you can do pre check in with alamo so you just head to the desk, show them your driving license and then you get your key to the car. You don't get to choose your car at Melbourne airport though just because of how small it is there. Maybe in the future this will change.

No way did it take an hour! The airport is 87 miles away from I drive!!

It took us around an hour, no traffic. If you check on maps it says 1hr 8 mins.

Just look at the other blogs on here, 3hours, etc it took me 1.45mins,, i followed speed limits, and speed traps I drove on the 192....Even the locals say it's too far.! Bring back Sanford, 20 mins away

Thanks for watching! It was fine actually, we was worried that he would be bored and be hard on the flight but he was very good. We took some drawing things with us and also purchased KZbin premium for a month and downloaded loads of stuff on the iPad. That kept him entertained, we also brought different snacks with us as well.

Really enjoyed your videos! I’m just wondering Paige is school age so did you just take her out of school for this holiday? I have 4 children and am debating what to do. Florida is my favourite place however now the children are school age, it’s very pricey to go in holidays so thinking to just take them out of school! Thanks!

Yes we took her out of school for one week, we was lucky as her school had 2 weeks off at the end of May. We did just receive a letter for a fine which was £60 per adult so £120 in total. For us its cheaper to take her out of school than go in school holidays, we wouldn't do this if she had exams etc but as she was in the year 4 we didn't have any concerns in doing this and actually think she would learn more in a different country than in school 😀. Typical them sending a fine for a week off go back two years the children had most of the school year off due to covid 🤔 Still it’s a lot cheaper to do it that way so thank you! @@chelseawilkins7828 yeah tell me about it, if we wife to say she had covid then we wouldn’t have been fined but as we said it’s holiday they fined us…. Yeah much cheaper to pay the fine than going in school holiday. We always try to book a trip when there are bank holidays/ they have a week off already. Yeah we are uploading our vlogs once/ twice a week, next one will be tomorrow at 6pm 😀

Interesting, I thought that all the travel restrictions of needing COVID tests and/or vaccines had been scrapped. Why did you have to do the tests? My wife, my little 1 year old and I booked for November and we're now wondering if we have to do tests as we do not have the vaccines.

Hello, our trip was at the end of May and testing was still required…. We returned home on the 11th June and they had just be scrapped. Don’t worry you won’t need to test, unless they re-introduce it which I hope they don’t

@@_TheHamiltonFamily I just checked and unfortunately while they removed the having to test yourself before travelling, it seems that they still have the requirement of being fully vaccinated which is mental to be honest.

@@VitorF7 yea unfortunately the USA still require travellers to be fully vaccinated…. Not sure if that would change in the future though

The tickets prices are totally mad 😡 family of 4 your now looking at 3k and there going up again, pound against the dollar, pound has dropped massively.

@@_TheHamiltonFamily We’re into peak season and Disney have decided to increase their price tickets yet again they’re absolutely taking the piss family of four you’re looking at £5000 just to get out there plus food and another minimum £3000 just for tickets it’s just become absolutely shocking out of reach for many families

You will love clearwater beach, What I would say is wear something on your feet as when we have been there the sand was VERY HOT, esp for the young ones, Enjoy
