I love that your first goal is to take a break, you have been working so hard and it's so important to listen to your body! And I'm super excited to hear more about this YA Gothic horror you're brainstorming! I am insane and have given myself two camp nano projects (send help). One is finishing the ecofantasy novel I worked on in November (NaNoFinMo for the win!) And the other is finishing my PhD thesis! So daytime writing thesis, evening and weekend writing ecofantasy. Will need all the community help I can get so will be watching your videos because they make me happy. Especially when they star a bun bun 😍🐰

Awww! Sweet bunny! Yay for taking a break and reading for a week. I think it's so important! I have 2 Camp plans/goals: re-read and make notes on Fake Nora so I can work on book 2 in May and 2) finish my adult horror book that has been my morning writing project this month :) And YA Gothic horror is my absolutely favorite... actually any gothic horror is m' fave ;)

That YA sounds like it has a lot of my favorite tropes! As far as catching up on reading, I needed to do a lot of that this past month, and listening to MG audiobooks really helped catch me up. (But it also inspired me to write MG, so that might not be ideal for your YA plans!) Some of my recent favorites were You Don’t Know Everything, Jilly P by Alex Gino, Insignificant Events in the Life of a Cactus (and sequel, Momentous Events) by Dusti Bowling, and Inkling by Kenneth Oppel.

I am HERE FOR ANGST! I also don’t use the Nano website, I never have. I track my habits already in my daily life so upping the goals is no big thing. LOL I vote yes to switching to YA for a minute, I’m very interested to see more about how you outline the YA as well, I am trying to get better at outlining and I want to see alllll the different ways people do it. Haha

I don't think I'll be changing much from my normal brainstorming/outlining process, luckily (my video on that is "How I Prep For My 1st Draft!")! I mean never say never, but my current process has gotten me through 3 books now and works quite well for me! haha AND YAS THE ANGST!!!!!

I have a desire to write the entire 5 book series this year. Whoops again. You could always work a little on both- mainly YA, but your MG when you need a creative break.

Love how your videos always gets me excited to keep writing on my own books! Your idea for the YA book sounds so good honestly!🤩 For April I think I’m just going to take it a bit easy because I just hit act 2 in my new book and being fully into it I think a slower pace could be good. It’s an adult fantasy inspired by Norse mythology and it has portal magic! (I’ve always wanted to write a story with portals hihi ) It’s a much “heavier” story than my ya fantasy that I finished in February but it’s such a fun time writing on something completely different! ♥️

I'm not sure if I'll be doing much for camp nano, but I'm about 2/3rds through a revision on my first project. But I think the next thing I work on, which might be for the second half of camp, is a ghosty MG which I've been very excited about for awhile. I got an idea for the ending the other night and it feels like it might be the time to get going on it now!

ooo interesting, I can't wait to hear more about the middle grade high fantasy because I have a fun idea for one too! my camp goal will be continuing on my WIP, which is adult fiction. There's a very good chance that I will finish act two by the end of April which is mind boggling to me. I thought this draft would take me way longer than it's been taking me so far (but I know editing is 80% of the work lol).
