I really liked this collection and I really like the whole art movement theme they seem to be following. Metamorphisis and Elysian fields are my faves in this collection, but honestly, except for the cream shade, I love them all. I absolutely hated Momentary Wonders too.

I watched your spring review also, but this one convinced me to sign up! The collection as a whole looks good to me, but Elysian Fields, Stop the Clock, and Metamorphosis are the ones I'm most excited to see in person. I've also been wanting to try Zoya's Remove + but it also hasn't been top priority for my nail budget so I'm glad that this box includes something you consider comparable. Love your videos & honest opinions!

Absolutely love the colors and theme of this box! Especially the swamp green and shimmery teal. Won't be buying, of course, but will def try to dupe it! I love the dupes portion of your videos. Keep em coming!

Metamorphosis Metamorphosis Metamorphosis. That is the winner in the collection for me. I hadn't made a firm choice about what to wear for Thanksgiving...until I saw Stop the Clock. Once I saw it live, well, there was no question what I would be wearing on turkey day. I have a few polishes close in look to Persistent Memory, but it's still a color I love for autumn. Makes me think of sweater weather college football games. It will get a good autumn workout. The other colors were okay for me, but I probably wouldn't have bought them. I definitely have dupes for the ivory and gray, but I'm of the opinion that one can never have too many ivory or gray polishes. Elysian Fields is one of those colors that brings up bad memories of spending my military career looking like death warmed over. I was prepared to hate it... But then all three of them became far more interesting when you showed them mattified. They look great like that, so now I'm eager to try them that way. Thanks for providing those photos! Orly made the right call including that in the Color Pass. I like the polish remover a great deal, but not sure I'll spend $9 for it in the future. That's a little too steep for my tastes--and wallet. As for Momentary Wonders, I wasn't impressed with it at first the way I was with its Breathable sister line, which socked it right into the depths of my faves wheelhouse. Most of them looked terrific on me, too. The Topaz was the only meh one in that collection, at least to me. But MW grew on me over time. Now I like it a great deal. Except for Dancing Embers, which is a no not because the color is unpleasant, but because all red/pink-tinted oranges look horrible on me. Or, worse, make me look horrible. I gave it to my mom, who was born to wear colors like it. She emptied the bottle in about 3-4 months. That takes some doing with any bottle of Orly polish.

I am not crazy about this collection simply bc the colors are so sad! Fall is so beautiful and full of color, and this box is just ... not that lol I do like the green one and the teal shimmery one simply bc one is weird and the other one quite unique. Surrealism was full of yellow, orange, red, green, blue and purple so we are missing some key colors here. Anyway thats my take on it lol Thanks for a great review!!!!

Ha, I like the Elysian Fields color as well, but also the two shimmers. I appreciate the review on the matte topcoat and polish remover (even though I buy cheap acetone and add addictive). Interestingly, I don't like the Zoya top, bc I feel like it oversaturates the pad and I like more control. Anyhow, TFS!

That reddish-brown-rust tone seems to be part of the fall collections for clothing, too. I love it! I have a tee from Kohl's in the color "burgundy rust." I definitely liked the Orly Stop the Clock.

I also was really happy to get some non-cream finishes and some colors/combos that are a little more unexpected. I actually liked the matte top coat in the Color Pass more than I expected! It takes effect really quickly. Thanks for sharing!

I'm not sure about the green color, but I'm going to try it. I currently have my nails shaped like yours, but I think I'll reshape them to almond for Fall and this collection.

Hah. I really like Sec n dry and bought a refill for it. I sometimes layer it and then the shining armor over top of it. I also like the matte top coat! I like colorpass a lot. I don’t love the purugly greens as much as you, but this one looks really nice when it is dry. Not as nice in the bottle.

I like the color story and art theme!! I find it easier to immerse myself in the mood of a collection when there are fewer colors included, the way Orly does their releases. Those huge 9 or 12 bottle collections from other brands make deciding which to buy so hard.

Thanks for comparing the Orly polish remover to the Zoya, I really appreciate it! I know this is an unpopular opinion but I don't think the bonder base is so great--it lets polishes stain my nails something fierce and I just don't get why people love it so much. I'm also at the end of my color pass subscription and I don't plan to renew it. For me, there were far more misses than hits--I only liked Stop the Clock and Metamorphosis from the Surrealist collection, for example. I liked Momentary Wonders and Pop! a little better but not enough to re-sub. And the "freebies" were ok but not exciting enough for me to drop another $120 (when I'd have gone out of my way to purchase only 7 out of 24 of the year's polishes--less than a third!). Especially when there are so many wonderful indie options vying for my dollars. I'll be happy to watch your future reviews and see if there's any other Orly polish I want to spend money on, LOL.

For me I think I like Bonder because it holds on longer but you're right the staining is reallll. I just don't mind stained nails because they're always painted but I can understand why someone wouldn't want that.

When I opened my box I thought Hillary will love Elysian Fields, I'm happy with this collection even the off white. I agree with you about Orly topcoats, not a fan, hoping for a treatment with the winter collection. Thanks for the review.

Love this video- I have the same favorites as you with the addition of Stop the Clock. My husband also immediately called Elysian Fields "baby poop" haha! I thought Ceci N'est Pas Blanc had a tinge of yellow to it but maybe that's just my skin tone. I love them all, really my favorite box of the year so far.

Hopefully I can find the green at Ulta to see how it looks against my skin tone. Was so excited when Olive You Kelly came out and then I get it and it was a no go for me. Same with Cashmere Crisis from that same collection. Was so bummed that I couldn’t pull off those colors!

I feel like the green goes well with my skin ston but I held it against my BFs hand and he's very olive complected and it definitely affected the way the color looked a lot!

I'm a sucker for teals so I had to try Metamorphosis right away. As I put it on I did curse myself for not at least doubling up on my base coat. Hopefully I'll get lucky and it won't be too bad.

Thanks for the swatches! I got my color pass and just haven’t tied them yet- except on a swatch wheel 3 sec after I opened the box! Love the addition of the comparisons! I ordered the Glisten & Glow top coat you recommended and I LOVE it. Nice and thick but quick drying. I’m on day 7 and just now have chips. Keep up the great videos!!

My favorite TC is Glisten & Glow! It works similarly to SV for me but I don't have the shrinkage issues I have with SV, it doesn't get gloopy as quickly (though it still does, I think it's just what happens with quick dry TC), and it's so thick and glossy!

Not sure if you'll see this comment but I'm wondering if you have recommendations for a base coat that's good to use when nails are stained, like they would be after wearing Metamorphosis. Something to conceal the stain if I want to wear a sheer polish and don't want discoloration showing through. Thank you for any tips! :)

I haven't had a lot of luck with preventing stains but I know a lot of people recommend doing 2 coats of base to help with staining! I've also seen some people say ridge filling bases can help as well!

Your boyfriend was absolutely right. When I saw the pic of Elysian Fields, the first thing I thought was, baby poop. And my second thought was, gotta have it. I really like Orly, especially their Breathable line. I've been going back and forth about Color Pass, partly because I like to be in control of what I buy and what I don't, and what if there are too many polishes in the boxes that I don't like, etc. But, I think that I'm going to take the plunge and sign up starting with the winter box. I've tried different top coats, and I still keep going back to Mineral Fusion. It's just the right formula, the right amount of drying time, and excellent protection for my manicure.

Stop the Clock is the only one I like. I opened my color pass and just felt blah. Well except Elysian Fields which…just my opinion…has got to be the ugliest polish I’ve ever seen. I’m not a matte fan either so this pass was pretty much a bust for me. That said, I’ve enjoyed the others this year. I will probably stop my subscription after winter though. I’ve got two years of colorpass and have WAY more yellows and oranges (a couple of which are functionally dupes) for me. My skin tone doesn’t do well with warm yellow undertones and Orly just seems to do a lot of warm colors that lean yellow. (yeah ok, this is what i really thought when i opened Surrealist: brown, brown, brown, cat poop, boring white, boring gray, and then matte topper to make all the dull colors look even duller. I know I’m an outlier with my opinion lol).

Orly just does not dry fast enough for me and sucks for nail art. I find their colours boring and not very imaginative and they stay in the "safe" zone for selections. Not quite sure why that is.

If I am on the fence about a collection, I watch more than one swatcher for that collection as lighting and closeup shots can vary. Don’t have any issues with Hillary’s reviews whatsoever. I can see the colors and polish performance just fine and I really enjoy the commentaries Hillary does! Hillary, you rock! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
