Note the split tracks at Antony. The upper platform is the departure platform. The lower platform is for arrivals

Only the French could create transportation systems so *epic* that even short-distance airport shuttles leave departing aircraft choking on their dust. I've had the pleasure of using the OrlyVAL once...And the only „fault“ I found in it was that it only took me as far as Orly, when I would have much preferred to have stayed on board all the way to Barcelona Sants! 🇪🇸🚈💨🇫🇷❤‍🔥💯😁 Q: Why aren't there any VAL systems in the United Kingdom? A: [ _No punchline, this is a genuine question. We seem to have a severe _*_lack_*_ of much needed French technology around these parts..._ 💔] *Vive le TGV!* 🚄🇫🇷❤‍🔥🤘💨🥲

Standard railway practice in France is to drive on the *left* - A practice adopted from the first networks in France, which were installed by British companies working under contract. Exceptions to this are local Métro and VAL systems, those of Paris, Marseille and Lille in particular. ⬅🚆➡ A similar historic quirk applies in Madrid, where the Metro runs on the *left* despite Spains mainline network all being *right* -hand. ⬅🚇🇪🇸 Granted, working on the British side might seem a little strange at first glance (It seems strange enough to me, and I _live_ here!) but it had one unexpected benefit: It made construction of the Channel Tunnel _considerably_ more straightforward. 🇬🇧🚇🇫🇷👍 Now...If only certain other British fc🇬🇧-ups could be blasted apart and made right again. Particularly that one back in 2016... 🇬🇧🗳🇪🇺
