Hogan actually had two of these. The first debuted, the earliest date I can find is October 13, 1985 and had flower tooling around the perimeter of the strap. Probably has WWF letters stamped where logo plates later went, but i don't know how. It had no tip as Reggie didn't start putting tips on belts until 1986. Supposedly Hogan gave it to Bubba The Love Sponge's kid. The second which has the seashell tooling and the tip with the added piece debuted at Wrestlemania 3

I think it’s actually the opposite. I think the first one had no tip and seashell tooling and the second one have the tip and the flower tooling. At hogans store. He has the one with no tip on display and it has the seashell tooling
@MrNWA4Life Жыл бұрын
@dougmeyers Are you that stupid, or are you just being wiseass? Almost every belt Reggie Parks made between 1983-mid 1986 had flower tooling. The only exceptions were the smaller Florida/Southern style belts that had basket weave tooling. Hogan's "1985" belt had flower tooling. The 86-88 belts, the first one debuted about October 13, 1985, and had flower tooling and no tip. When Reggie started putting tips on belts in mid 1986, the WWF called wanting one. They just asked him to send one and they'd put it on themselves. That didn't work too well because Hogan swung it around in the ring, and the tip flew off. The second one debuted at WrestleMania 3. Obviously the tip came off at some point. The tips Reggie and Dave Millican use are different from the tips you can get from Figures Inc. Figures Inc tips are 2 pieces and screw together. Dave and Reggie's tips are one piece and just glued on. As far as tooling, Reggie pretty much exclusively used seashell tooling from August 1986 until the rest of his life.

Beautiful belt. How long is the strap and dimensions of the main plate ? it looks small comparing to what is seen on TV since Hulk Hogan is a tall man. Sometimes the replica belts are not ring accurate, however you did a great review. 👍

American made by Reggie Parks. That's funny because Reggie's Canadian. Born in Edmonton, Alberta.
@MrNWA4Life3 жыл бұрын
One thing that's incorrect and you pointed it out, the original didn't have a WWF logo tooled in where logo plates would later go. The original had the letters WWF stamped.

Hey John, do you believe that CS HD belts in 2021 are on par with MidWest, I know they don’t hold the same value, but most people want the quality to be the same. How do you feel MidWest belts stack up to CS Hd plates. I feel that a lot of collectors, no matter how perfect a CS belts have become, they just dismiss it as a bootleg.
@johnjon2463 жыл бұрын
At this point there are no major differences between a CS made belt or a Midwest. CS has upped their game in the last few years and is just as good as any American belt maker for a fraction of the cost. Yeah, people will dismiss any belt that was made overseas as a bootleg, but so what. As long as you have the belt of your dreams, who gives a shit what anyone else has to say.

What’s your take on the new CS crumrine Vs the Fandu crumrine. When I grew up the Crumrine might as well of been on the Spanish network, because the belt was with that “OTHER” promotion that is not nearly as good as WWF, I only paid attention to the crumrine when Flair showed up with the belt. Let me know about new Fandu luxe. vs Ultimate crumrine, I might have to send it to u for a review.. ps: 3k is a lot for a belt I did not grow up watching. We are both obviously the same age.
@johnjon2463 жыл бұрын
@@chaddawson7652 I'll be honest, I'm not a Crumrine connoisseur but I can definitely tell the difference between the fandu Luxe vs the crumrine though. (I don't have the luxe if that's what you thought) I wouldn't mind getting my hands on one if I won it in a raffle though. The design and size look much improved, but the textured part of the Luxe version looks more like a nugget texture rather than little indented dots like a Crumrine. The textured part also looks like it was painted silver instead of plated silver. The shine of the dual plating looks just like my old fandue BG that I painted with silver paint to look dual plated.

How long did it take to be made and sent? I paid for a "ready to ship" belt in March, they accidently "sold it and sent it" to someone else and said they had plates etched that they could finish and send me in a couple of months and now I can't get a straight update

The only reason I bought this was because it was in stock. It took 5 days to arrive from Pakistan.
