WOW! ❤️ I watched this with my mouth slightly open just in awe of how pretty this ornament was as it took shape. The tucking and pinning I could see doing but I've got to search your videos to see how you drew the lines. Even if I just make one for each of my children and grandchildren I'd be happy ❤️ thank you for sharing this.

I started following this lady a few years back to learn Kimekomi? She is excellent since I first followed her she has had two babies. I admire her for spending her time with them I’m sure she will come back on here and share all her brilliant talents when the time is right. You can pick up lots of hints and tips still on her page

Thank you so much for your wonderful comment! You are right, my family is my first priority. I'm working on some projects behind the scenes, like updating my website and adding exclusive videos for all my PDF tutorials. It's a lot of work but I'm slowly getting things done. I hope to be back to uploading regular videos to my channel sometime in 2024. Fingers crossed 🤞

Wow! Love this, and I also love how you used big pieces of fabric and just cut around the outline after you'd pushed the fabric down. Genius idea! Makes for less cutting of fabric pieces. The batting was an added great idea to make the fabric poofey. Very nice. :)

Hi, I am wondering what "fabric" or product you used for the underlayment that you glued on before putting the decorative fabric on the various sections. If you can let me know, I would greatly appreciate knowing this. Thanks so much.

In my experience, they usually won't go for more than $20 at the typical neighborhood craft fair in the USA. I stopped selling finished ornaments after I had children and my time became more valuable.

Can you use a felting needle for this?
@ornamentdesigns2 жыл бұрын
The needle needs to be smooth so the fabric doesn't catch on the needle. From what I know about felting needles they are barbed. So. no I don't think you can use a felting needle for kimekomi.

What are you gluing on first? Is it interfacing? If so is it important or can you glue and fabric on straight away?
@ornamentdesigns3 жыл бұрын
It's quilt batting. Timing is not an issue. You can glue the batting, wait for it to dry and then tuck the fabric over later if you want. Just don't get any glue in the grooves.

Where do you find your cutting and tucking tool?
@ornamentdesigns3 жыл бұрын
I live in Japan, and so I bought them locally. For cutting I use a slim type retractable knife (aka box cutter) with auto-lock. For tucking I use an upholstery needle. You can easily find similar items on Amazon. There are some links in the video description to similar tools to what I use.

What type of glue is in that stick?
@ornamentdesigns3 жыл бұрын
It's an alcohol based, clear & quick dry, wrinkle free (when used on paper) formula. However, any glue stick should work fine as long as it dries clear.

What type/name of the yellow glue you are using for the cord?
@ornamentdesigns3 жыл бұрын
Ornament Designs It's an alcohol-based, clear & quick dry, wrinkle-free (when used on paper) formula. It's made by Tombo. I'm not sure if they sell it outside of Japan. Any glue stick should work fine as long as it dries clear.

Did you really draw all of that on there and make it straight? Without a pattern, I can't believe somebody can just do that. That's an awful hard thing to draw a pattern like that. And have it all straight and then come back and do what you did
