Can you make a series of dedicated 3ds Max tutorials for Ornatrix 8? For those coming in fresh, from zero to hero kind of series, so to speak. It's very important for newcomers.

I'm keenly interested, but given how unstable v7 was for me, I'm hesitant to buy 8. Crashed more often than any other 3ds max plugin I've ever used. Until I see release notes saying "vastly improved stability and crash handling" I'm gonna hold off. Also, tutorials! Desperately need good 3ds max tutorials! Lots of the best ones (feathers) are for Maya, and everything else is 4+ years old. Give Max some love!

The most monstrous problem with ornatrix in 3ds max is that the amount of hair visible on the screen when using the edit guides modifier should be equal to what it actually is. That is, you cannot, for example, do hairstyles using edit guides with 1,000 000 hairs, but seeing only 10,000 on the screen - try working with the edit guides modifier in this mode - when you then display the real number of hairs - 1,000 000 - your hairstyle will come into complete chaos. Even the ancient Max Hair Fur does not have such a problem -and ornatrix has this problem. This problem has been repeated from version to version for many years and it is unsolvable. That's why we stopped subscribing to Ornatrix 3ds max a few years ago.

Do you mean that you have Edit Guides on top of dense hair (e.g. Hair from Guides) where there is 1M render hair count, you reduce that to 10K in Hair from Guides, edit that with Edit Guides and then increase it in Hair from Guides back to 1M and get unexpected results? Trying to understand the problem.

If you are referring to combing/sculpting the hair with a low count, then increase it to the real number and have it interpolate with the low count, yes, you can do that. In the other hand, if you are referring to combing a small subset of guides and using them for hair interpolation, you can do that too. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the problem but what you can describe can be done from a few years now(in the first example) and the second example can be done since the beginning.

@@Ephere если в Ox Hair from Guides установить render count намного больше view count , поверх него - модификатор Ox Edit Guides и в нем провести подрезку волос - на рендере прическа будет отличаться. Чтобы этого избежать - при использовании подрезки в Ox Edit Guides нужно ставить одинаковое значение в render count и view count , что на прическах с миллионами волос дарит вам дичайшие неудобства и 3-4 fps во вьюпорте даже на мощной видеокарте

When I create my hairstyle using the hair card method, I want to apply the alpha texture I created and check it in real time. Is there a stack or workflow that ensures that the UV coordinates are fixed when strands are planted or changed?

At the moment only using TyFlow.

You can reference the hair, add Mesh from Strands modifier to the reference and then scatter those particles on that mesh as you want (e.g. using scatter, or tyFlow, or even with Mesh from Strands proxy meshes)

техническая документация на официальном сайте, и уроки от charly tutors на ютубе позволят освоить этот плагин за неделю, это не так сложно как кажется.
