Great vid as usual Dave for your milk bottle top water dishes what i do with mine is i hot glue dry sphagnum moss or crumbled up cork bark around the edge and the bottom of the milk bottle top and leave a bit bare so it can be glued onto something and they blend into the background a bit better
@laurnakingsley694717 күн бұрын
I use superglue over the lid "water dish" outside and then roll it in coco fiber and/or cork bark dust. (I use a grater to get fine bits or bark). You can leave out a bit of the lid where you want to attach it inside the enclosure. Easy, quick and looks a lot better in my opinion :)

You might try to find some walnut shell halves. English or black walnuts could be ground out and sealer put on them. Could make a cool water bowl. Also small clam shells might be cool

There are small acrylic jars with screw on lids like for cream/makeup etc that make really good, see through water dishes, they aren't as much of an eye sore as these. You can buy them in bulk. 😊

Good Dave always giving His best for the Beasties. Even build a balcony for this one😉 wich is a very beautiful Tarantula. Quite fluffy for an asian arboreal. The colours remind me a bit of C.darlingi. The brighter seam round the carapace looks very pretty too.

A few things… First, so glad to have more regular tarantula content. It has been missed! About sexing slings, what would you recommend to someone looking to buy a digital microscope? What should you look for, or look out for? With the water dish location, we have had the same problem with T’s webbing them over. Your new front location is a good idea and convenient for easy maintenance (unless a Pokie poops in it. 😂).
@daveslittlebeasties16 күн бұрын
Buy the best you can afford regarding microscopes
@bighashgang199015 күн бұрын
You can't accurately sex slings until around the 2 inch mark, you can buy a hand held scope or a nice table top scope, get the best you can afford like Dave has stated

Nice video and spider Dave, I noted you didn't add clayballs (and beastiemix), any particular reason you didn't? You stated that it likes a humid enclosure....... I thought that clayballs helped in keeping the enclosure moist enough, also you didn't secure the piece of horizontal bark with the gluegun, did you forget?
@daveslittlebeasties16 күн бұрын
I only tend to use the clay balls in enclosures that have plants in , I need to collect more beastie mix ive run out 😂and the bark is wedged in should be fine 😂👍

Hello Dave and Camera Lady. That is a gorgeous enclosure! I like the mossy little cave. Also a very pretty spider. So well behaved. I am super curious about the Phan Cay Blue now. As for the water bowls, you could take any soft to medium wood and hollow it out to size. That would be a little prettier than just the lids. If I was in the UK I would do that for you. Unfortunately shipping is detrimental cost wise.😕 as we found out with the sculpture I sent you. Maybe I’ll give it a shot anyway. What are the measurements of the lids? Okay, you guys have a smashing end to your week and I will be back on Sunday. Take care of yourselves and each other.😊🩷❤️🧡♥️💛

If you want blend the water dishes in better then consider shopping online for miniature modeling supplies. You can buy a number of things there to change the look of the dishes and even blend them into the terrain. Since you're in the UK check out green stuff world as they have a ton of different modeling supplies.

@@daveslittlebeasties No problem. What you'll probably want mainly is over in their putties and materials section and then if you want some of their acrylic paints and some of their weathering effects. You should be able to customize a dish that blends into each tanks environment.

Heck ya brother I acquired the regular phan cay blue back when they first became available several years ago and raised a sling up to an adult female, this is back when slings were going for 250+ she's an adult female these days and absolutely stunning, I also have a sub adult female of this red color form but I tend to like the regular phan cay a little better

Very cool spider. My female is 2 molts ahead i think but still doesnt show the red as you see on the photo's on the internet. Like you said it is very similar to the sabah blue and it wouldn't suprise me if it becomes a sabah blue dark color form some day. I've never seen a actual red phan cay red.
