Fun fact for anyone interested: during the 60s Oromos and Somalis from Ogaden where facing oppression in Haile Selassie's regime so an Oromo man called Waqo Qutu began a revolt in Bale region in 1963 and it grew very powerful. At the same time the Ogadenis started the WSLF with funding from Somalia militarily. Soon the Bale Oromo rebels and the WSLF partnered up and together they gave the empire a hard time for almost 10 years. In the end, the Bale rebels and WSLF won the war but at a heavy cost, and a few years later it led to Haile Selassie's death. The WSLF went on to become the ONLF, and the Bale rebels went on to help create the OLF.
