Thank you for the videos Juan, in MI here but still enjoy watching how the repair of the spillway is progressing as time goes by. All our water in MI is where it belongs and under control. (smile) AF veteran myself but eyes were too bad to even think of being a pilot so just watched for SLMs via radar hoping that we'd get your sort of guys into the air before, well you know what I mean. Thanks again for the videos. George

Great report as usual Juan. I went looking for my favorite steelhead riffle below Oroville this morning and it was gone! Those high flows really messed up a couple of my favorite fishing spots. Flows were on the high side for fishing too. As a result no fish today. Still nice to get out! 😊🐟

The thumbs down are from a small number of ignorant people who do not and never will understand construction, how the dam operates, and are claiming this project will be a failure and that people in Oroville are at great risk.
@calichef19626 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, there are a LOT of miserable people in this world, and they LOVE to share their misery with the rest of us. Many of them are wacky conspiracy theorist followers who don't know their butt from a hole in the ground, let alone *anything* about Lake Oroville, hydrology or civil engineering. And then there are the computer "bots." They are programmed to go to any page and click all the links or buttons on the entire page, likes, dislikes, outside links... you name it. I have no idea why people program these bots, but they do.
@rebeccagarrett29376 жыл бұрын
+Don Moore or are not computer literate and just trying to clear their like list...took me over two years to realize you just have to push the thumb again and the like disappears...yes some of us didn't know that...and some want to freeup computer space
@ronpowell23736 жыл бұрын
calichef1962- the 'bots' click all links to 'see where they lead' - basically they got here by doing the same thing. Doing so they can map to the end points and get some associations you wouldn't know were there. This is basic data mining. But bad programming means the bots dont clean up as they go. Good ones do- basic courtesy , malicious ones do- they dont want any one to know the bot has been and gone, basic ones dont- kiddie script bashers learning or trying things out.

Thank You Juan. It is wonderful to hear a rational, intelligent report on what it going on. You are one of the few voices that truly tell it like it is. And does so with the perspective of a pilot which means a good eye, VERY conservative in outlook (no bold old pilots), and someone who gained the perspective of plotting a flight plan. Would that management in more things had that outlook. You have a convinced subscriber here. PS Pete's catch looked.....delicious... and he looked so happy. Enjoy it now... it is fleeting.... my son is 27.. I have memories :)

@davide.burden20436 жыл бұрын
Same here, the nose view once in a while is okay, but I much prefer seeing what you, (the pilot), has to do to make it happen. I find it very informative and educational when you explain what you are doing, and why. At the same time as actually seeing the results of your efforts. Much more enjoyable than watching a computer doing all the work.

Love that new camera angle there! Got a better feel for what's going on when you land. Love the Luscombe! I'm planning on buying a paramotor as soon as I can, to "dip my feet in the air", so to speak. A quick and more affordable way for me to get up there. Watched several KZbin videos on it and I'm hooked! Just started cutting trees out back for my runway last week. :) Water level is much higher than the last video I saw a while back. Beautiful shots of that flowered shelf too! Pretty amazing land out there. Thanks for the extra pics and the update! 👍👍

Thank you for the responsible reporting Juan. Disinformation is out there that "huge cracks" have developed in the spillway, that it will "crumble" when/if water flows down it, and that water seeping through the temporary walls RCC walls is a "problem". None of which is true. An incident like this one brings out all kinds. Nice flying too.

Is the turbin in the power plant that's not operating the same one as a year ago? or do they do a sort of rolling maintenance on them where they always have one turbin being off line and once one has been (refurbished?) they get it running, then shut another turbin down for maintenance?
