Hello Dr. Ryan! Thank you for your kind work and for helping thousands and thousands of us through all these years! I have a question regarding the bootcamp orthodontics video series. I've noticed that some videos in the series are missing. I'm wondering if this means the information from those missing videos is no longer necessary for the iNBDE exam, or if we should refer to the complete series available on KZbin for our studies. Thank you once again for your guidance and support.

what force does an open coil has?
@miguelsgoliveira4 жыл бұрын
Everytime I search for "piezoelectric theory of tooth movement" the pressure-tension theory comes up. What am I missing? Can anyone explain what the piezoelectric theory is? :)
@mentaldental4 жыл бұрын
The piezoelectric theory has been widely replaced by pressure-tension theory, but the basic idea is that a loading force placed on bone mechanically distorts molecules within the crystal lattice and electrons temporarily move to another location until the force is removed. These currents follow a certain rhythm with mastication or exercise, and are important for maintaining the calcification of alveolar bone, but are actually irrelevant for orthodontic tooth movement.
