It is amazing that for many years after Fatima the Catholics have prayed for the conversion of Russia. But all along in Russia, as in present-day China and other dictatorships, there was and is a thriving Christian culture albeit underground. The Eastern Church is awesome and has contributed so many great saints. I particularly like the Philokalia.

I live in a Catholic and Protestant country. There are not many Orthodox Churches here, and the ones that are there would never as bold as Patriarch Kyrill. Some are even afraid to be called conservative and bow to the whims of the world. The traditional Catholics in my country have more guts to speak what is true. Culturally, I like the Orthodox more, on the other hand Catholics have more "power" in my country. Which Church should I join?
