How to get Tool wear rate using Usui wear model in Abaqus?. If you have any idea about how to calculate tool wear rate using abaqus or any other software do let me know.

Salam How can I make the chip not overlap each other and into the piece? Thanks
@pinalrana2 жыл бұрын
You need to change failure criteria according.
@nekkaryounes6312 жыл бұрын
@@pinalrana where can I find this setting (failure cretira ) exactly ? Thanks
@pinalrana2 жыл бұрын
In Johnson-Cook damage for displacement (7:35 in the video). Discontinuous chip is generally observed in a brittle material. So, you also need to change the properties accordingly.

Thank s for this tutorial. Do you have an idea on the machining simulation of a composite material?

Salam, I have 'i5 4 ram' pc.Can I use it for simulation Withe abaqus /explicite (I need to simulate orthogonale cutting) Thanks

First of all thank you very much for this video! May I ask you a question? I did an orthogonal cutting simulation with a rigid tool... my van M.-stress is about 8e8 Pa so 800 MPa, wich seems normal for my parameters. But my reaction forces RF1 and RF2 at the reference point are quite high. The max RF1 is like 150 000 N (0.15e6) (I'm using SI units kg, m, ..) In my understanding the reaction force RF1 at the reference point in orthogional cutting should be the cutting force wich would be more like 1000 N max. Are your reaction forces also that high? Or do you have any suggestions?

Aluminium is ductile, so the chip formation should be continuous , serrated and not break apart into discontinuous chips like we see in the simulation. How should we rectify this?
@pinalrana2 жыл бұрын
To do so you have to use modified Johnson-Cook or incorporate Johnson-Cook plasticity.
@AkulaSriRahul2 жыл бұрын
@@pinalrana I'm new to all the this ,could you please guide ? Can you pls explain how did we take a specific value, in this case 0.0001 for disp at failure in the damage evolution? Where should those changes be made since there is only one Johnson cook option. Should viscoelasticity be selected under elasticity options?
@AkulaSriRahul2 жыл бұрын
@@pinalrana Also, if we use titanium alloy for workpiece , can we use the same procedure with only changing Johnson cook parameter values , keeping displacement at Failure as 0.0001?

@@AkulaSriRahul yes you can.

Sir how to change feed rate in this model
@pinalrana Жыл бұрын
In the present simulation study you have only 2 parameters depth of cut and speed. Feed is equal to width of cut or width of workpiece.

From which papers did you took the properties of workpiece and tool as in your document it was cited as [16] and [17]. Kindly send that paper also as it will be helpful.
