Orthopedic Cast Padding is mainly made by three types materials based on the different markets required, 100% synthetic or 100% pure cotton or viscose + cotton material. Orthopedic bandages are an essential item to have under any cast. It is designed to help provide cushioning under the cast and relieve chafing. Cast Padding helps prevent sores and irritation due to pressure points inside the cast. The padding conforms well to any contour and is helps to keep the skin dry and comfortable. These three types of undercast padding can be used with either plaster or synthetic casting material. The orthopedic casting padding tears and moves easily around awkward contours, minimising patient trauma and enhancing ease of application for the clinical user.
Undercast padding is mainly to protect exposed bones and nerves under plaster of paris bandage and synthetic casting tapes.

Application
The undercast padding can be used for a number of different applications as following,
a. It is used as padding for splints and compression bandages as well as a protective layer under plaster and synthetic casts.
b. In wound care, it functions as padding when combined with textile dressings or paraffin gauze dressings.
