I can relate to your perspective on history. It's not so much about the big events, but rather how the average person reacted to those events at the time. I love the way you just go wherever without the need for a guide or the security of a planned tour. That's what make your videos so interesting. Thank you for sharing.

@@LindaBulman I totally agree with you, Linda! History is fascinating and we always learn about the important people but what about the regular everyday average person? I like to do things at my own pace and create my own picture in my mind 😂 yours are great but I usually like to see for myself!

Another great video! When I lived in Japan I was told the translations are written based on how well the words sounded together. I also ate octopus, and it was so chewy, ugh! I love walking around and wondering about the lives of those I see- my former travel companion thought I walked too much and thought about the lives of others too much…..that’s why her and I don’t travel together!

@@sgalligan thank you, Sue! Usually the translation is just straight from the original language with no grammar changes or corrections 😂 always makes me laugh when I catch one! As long as I feel safe, I love walking in new places just to see what you find and seeing normal people living their normal lives. Fascinating!

You echo my sentiments exactly when it comes to fast food joints like McDonalds, particularly in countries with their own cuisine! Bizarrely my friend's brother who has lived in Kyoto for 20+ years joins with his elderly Japanese neighbours on Christmas Day for their traditional KFC takeaway, which he orders in September!!!! No, I can't get my head around that either!!

I love to travel but it is physically and mentally exhausting, so much to take in at once, sensory overload! I am glad in my life I was able to have experienced different cultures, Japan being my favorite with the UK a close second, because now in my 60s I don't have the energy! LOL Do as much as you like while young Ben, because one day the clock does run out. I am content now with vloggers like you to watch, it is much easier on my feet and back! If you keep making content I will keep watching.

I would imagine just like the Romans kept detailed records of family lines and their lives, other cultures probably did the same. I would think much of Asia's long history was recorded for posterity, especially their family tree. As for the use of the pottery, all they would need to do is have a laboratory test the lining of the pottery and do carbon dating.

@ I played gens 1 and 2, then my parents wouldn’t get them for me anymore, so once gen 6 came out I got them for myself. If I can see a pokemon I can tell you its name, it might take me a moment for the newer generations. When it comes to other people I tend to give them credit for at least getting something related, whether it’s evolutionary or version counterparts.

They probably know that they had parties there because of the historical records. A lot of the nobility around the world would have people that would keep an account of their daily lives and activities. Also other important people might’ve wrote down that they attended those parties. a lot of people kept diaries Japan’s one of the oldest countries in the world that’s how they know what they were doing 1000 years ago Due to the written word. And as far as the pots in museums a lot of times, they would probably do an analysis of the contents inside the pot to know what was held inside. Before modern chemical cleaners a lot of residue was left. Japan has a lot of natural disasters, between the earthquakes, tsunami’s and typhoons also there’s a few active volcanoes around Japan 😝 honestly when I checked in a hotel or a hostel in Japan, I would ask the staff what to do in the case of an emergency. They usually have plans for the guest where to evacuate to I’m surprised you haven’t encountered any earthquakes while you’ve were there even small ones. As far as the alcohol and the cigarette machines, if you notice at the top, there was something where you scan a card. To prove your age before it’ll dispense the products.

@@JustShelby888 I assume there are records of important people visiting the castle but how did they know they had tea in the garden and not inside? 😂 I didn’t notice the ID card reader on the vending machines, thanks Shelby!
@JustShelby888
@JustShelby888 Ай бұрын
@ cause they probably said they had it in the garden silly 😝 you have to think before motion pictures I feel like writing was a lot more descriptive and detailed. I’m sure they had it inside when the weather was cold, but who wouldn’t like a nice tea in the garden I mean you’re British don’t y’all ever drink tea in the garden? 😝 My favorite thing to do when I go to historical sites is see if there’s any photographs or paintings of what it look like hundreds years ago versus now. That’s what I always think about when I go places it’s like I wonder what it was like a day in their life. Things were slower and more simple. They probably sat in those gardens for hours and just relaxed. Enjoy the environment not a care in the world, sipping their tea. 🫖 💕
