This song reminds me of the many long nights during my last year in undergrad. I'd sit in the geophysics workroom at my university and just loop this song nonstop while working on my senior design project. Other nights, I would be grading papers and projects for the sophomore level geophysics course I TA'd for. People would come in and out throughout the night as we collectively struggled over our coursework. We'd get taco bell at 1 AM, and we'd laugh over dumb memes and videos while taking a study break. While walking home in the dead of night, or perhaps even the early hours of the morning, this song would play softly through my earbuds. Thus, it encapsulated that time period for me - one full of difficult challenges but also great friendship and and a distinct sense of camaraderie. And while I wouldn't wish to go back to that time of hardship, I will always remember it as a formative experience as I finished my education, and this song will always have a special place in my heart because of that.

Every time I come back and listen to this song I always feel a rush of nostalgia and miss the simple times before Covid hit. I remember all through elementary and even a few years ago in middle school talking with my friends about the show as we watched the episodes air on TV every week. But all of those friends have moved away now. They said it ended. But keep in mind that Steven finally mastered inner peace and he never has to struggle anymore. He probably sees a therapist, enjoys the life outside of Beach City, and loves his life. When a show runs for too long, it loses its interest. This was an amazing way to end the show. We should leave him be on his treks and journeys and let him go with Connie. ❤️
