Even in my early childhood at the beginning of the noughties, I, already fascinated by American films, which formed my tastes in cinema, saw for the first time on TV a live broadcast of the Academy Award ceremony. I cannot express in words what impression the world made on me then, which was very far from me across the Ocean. Since then, every year until 2016, I watched the live broadcast of the ceremony, trying to watch all the nominees before it and predict the choice of the American Academy. Accordingly, the question "what to see" I have never really had at the beginning of each year. Probably some of you have a question, why did it end in 2016? By that time, I already knew the history of the Oscar pretty well: I knew how it was created, I knew about the record holder Walt Disney with 26 awards, I knew about the Beatles and Eminem, who was not allowed to perform his track from the movie "8 Mile", I knew about the success of the Soviet paintings "War and Peace" and "Moscow does not believe in tears", saw the triumph of the Titanic, the Tom Hanks double and the protest of Marlon Brando. Sometimes I agreed with the name in the envelope, sometimes I didn't. But since 2015, I have been completely disappointed in what began to happen and by what new rules the academy began to choose nominees and winners. A terrible and seemingly irreparable thing happened, because the so-called "tolerance" prevailed over art. I invite you to immerse yourself in the most vivid, touching and unforgettable moments of the Award, which the United States destroyed with its own hands. Let's Remember The Best...
