So in summary , prosecution against : 1. Light sentence 2. Wrong judgement - should have been 2nd degree murder 3. Wrong judgement on ammunition possession I have to agree with them Trained gun owner , 4 shots of talon bullets He was lucky i wasnt the judge , i thought his story was so improbable he'd have got 1st degree murder - 25 years

Pit Bull Prosecutor Gerrie Nel rips it again! Thank God for Prosecutor Gerrie Nel and his ability to see Justice and righteousness and for taking a STAND for righteousness. Prosecutor Gerrie Nel REALLY BROUGHT IT with his appeal! Also, when taking crime down, RIGHTEOUSNESS, FAIRNESS and JUSTICE is your inspiration and motivation, it's NOT easy to walk away from cases like this. Your principled nature in God, as well as your LOVE for RIGHTEOUSNESS just WON'T let you REST, until you see JUSTICE SERVED and that's the fuel that Prosecutor Gerrie Nel has, among other great things. Judge Masipa looks VERY PAINED, AGGITATED, PROVOKED, HUMILIATED, ANGRY and TORMENTED during the appeal. I know that Judge Masipa is grieved to have to face the fact that she was a LOUSE but oh well. Anyway, Prosecutor Gerrie Nel is VERY MUCH on point with his appeal and his findings of truth. I feel that the appeal will be granted but if NOT from Judgee Masipa, then from a higher court but of course things are going according to procedure. Also, if Judge Masipa denies the appeal because of her ILL EGO, then there ARE other recourses. So far and shockingly, Judge Masipa has defintely proved to be a very WEAK judge when it comes down to righteousness and white men. A lot of Africans view the white man as a God instead of just a human being. Therefore, when dealing with the situation as such, I believe her value for white men won't allow her to convict them worst than what she did. Her high value of white, wealthy men, gets in the way of her ability to see righteousness, facts and prevents her from making the proper determinations but WHEN willl Judge Masipa learn that the wealth does MANY CRIMES and they hide behind their popularity, world FAKE FACADE - like Bill Cosby and some others that will SOON come out. Back to Oscar. I think that Judge Masipa, looked at all of the money that Oscar spent and the long trial and considered that to be part of Oscar's punishment and all of such helped her determine a 5 year verdict. However, the truth is that Judge Masipa SHOULD have been even HARDER on Oscar for trying to BUY his way out of a GUILTY MURDER verdict that he knows he is due. In lay terms, Oscar didn't pay all of that money to prove his innocence but he paid all of that money to try and buy his way out of a crime. That is the TRUTH that Judge Masipa NEEDS to FACE but CAN SHE? More on this topic later. I'm sure that if Judge Masipa decides wrongly, then the supreme court will question her level of righteousness to see if she is fit to be judging. I also feel very sad for the cases that she's judged so far. Judge Masipa does NOT seem like a STRONG and JUST person. With all of the evidence AGAINST Oscar, including ALL of the DEFENSE TEAM witnesses who testified AGAINST Oscar and considering the witnesses who testified against Oscar as well as Oscar's VERY OWN TESTIMONY which PROVES that he cared absolutely NOTHING about Reeva, the way he IGNORED her on the bed and went to the restroom to kill her in COLD BLOOD, PROVES that Oscar is G-U-I-L-T-Y! written 12/9/14 (8:20 am)

It is interesting that this is only Nel's first appeal and gives an indication of his success rate as a prosecutor in the past. He will give his utmost until this conviction gets upgraded up to murder as it should be. He is on the right side of justice and we should be thankful for him.

Why do you need more than one year to send this moron to life imprisonment? What happened is clear as day: on Valentine's Day 2013 he found out that she was seeing someone else. Maybe he saw a text message or an email. He killed her. Now he should be sent to jail for the rest of his life. If I were the judge his ass would have been in prison since the day after Valentine's Day 2013.

This is just my opinion but I don't think that 10 months in jail for killing someone accident or otherwise is enough of a sentence. He still killed an innocent woman and 10 months isn't enough of a punishment! What type of message does that send to other people who "accidentally shot someone"

Shouldn't they be appealing it in front of a different judge since Masipa created the verdict ?
@lazerpete359410 жыл бұрын
yes they should she will say no as she is corrupt
@Helvetica24710 жыл бұрын
Yes, it does seem odd. However that is the way things are done in SA, I did read somewhere that the more confident and experienced the judge, the more likely he or she is to grant appeal against their own verdict. It's psychology. Will be interesting to see Masipa's reaction.
@susanlarhubarbe94753 жыл бұрын
I know this is years after your comment, but this is not the appeal: the title is wrong. It’s an application for leave to appeal. In our law you first apply to the original trial court for leave to appeal. If the trial court doesn’t grant leave to appeal then one can take the matter to the Supreme Court of Appeal, which is what happened here.
@sisyphus181110 жыл бұрын
Nel is addressing Masipa because he needs to ask the court that made the original judgment for permission to appeal. If she denies the request, then he can ask permission directly to the Court of Appeal. This system is the same as exists in the UK.
@lazerpete359410 жыл бұрын
Yea Dumb Masipa should be out and a different Judge can say yes or no for appeal. It should just go straight to an appeal -higher court.

Profiling this murder convict- one swallow does not make a summer Profiling attempts to derive hypothesis about an offender based on the analysis of the crime scene, victim information, current police intelligence of offenders, geographical profiling, racial profiling and equivalent death analysis. This is realistic but in the case of Olympic Gold Medallist and very severely disabled Oscar Pistorius, the prosecution and the global media tried extremely hard to drum up a nasty and portentious side of this athlete- we do not know how much money the television companies paid Pistorius’ ex-girlfriend and other to go on screen globally to destroy Pistorius’ character and reputation. Cheap social media communication has caused wars and forced courts to change verdicts We are no longer ruled by the Rule of Law. The media now rule the world in effect. There is no respect any longer for laws and protocols of behaviour and company governance. Politicians understand this and are unscrupulous, because today, money rules the world- newspapers thrive of controversy and conflict and without conscience they break legal rules; legal codes of ethics and rules of governance, as if the world is in a chaotic state of anarchy, evidence of which were the global protests against the world’s financial systems, such as Occupy Wall Street, (‘OWS’), a protest movement that began on 17 September 2011, in Zuccotti Park in New York’s Wall Street financial district, which received global attention due to the media and the Internet social media websites, thereby spreading the OWS movement against social and economic inequality worldwide. Criminal profiling Profiling is used when there are established profiles of certain types of personalities. However, as the proverb states: ‘One swallow does not make a summer’. The global public have always been gormless and today they can spread their lack of legal knowledge and lack of education by way of cheap Internet-equipped telephones and computers, offshoots of billions of pounds of military research to get mankind to the moon and a computer to planet Mars.

@evelineevelyn66810 жыл бұрын
Yes, very sad and unfair ! Many people before the accident did not know who he's Oscar and so easy to believe any witness ! Because, as you can believe in the words of Samantha's Taylor? She was his girlfriend 18 months and it's Oscar cheated on her with Reeva . In September, she went with him to the Seychelles and in November they were no longer together . Later testified that being in a relationship with Oscar was afraid for your life. And yet even asked him to come back to it ! WTF?? Beautiful and celebrity woman is dead but if Reeva and Oscar were not famous , rich and beautifull is interest in this matter would not be so great ! And that's why people take revenge on Oscar !
@mooshimooshi645610 жыл бұрын
Ewelina Maria Firstly it was no accident. It was straight out MURDER.... Secondly no one cares about his lovely past... He murdered Reeva in cold blood. He knew exactly where to shoot guided by her voice All the proof and hard evidence was clear in the court case WITHOUT DOUBT. Where is the evidence he thought there was an intruder. Oscar will rot in hell

Ewelina Maria i TOTALLY AGREE!!!! with you! you're spoken every single word from the bottom of my Soul! i think she - Samantha Taylor - is very discusting - and really a crazy Girl which is also very dumb! she will him back - but with this way???? it's only the Money!!! she will be a celebrity woman!!!!!!! very sad ! and most UNFAIR!!!

Jelly Nelly -- Fail This was a relatively simple case of a bully who shot his girlfriend Nel has come crying back to court saying Milady has got it all wrong and was too lenient with the verdict. I’m going to argue that Oscar got the right sentence because the prosecution was crap and the bench could do nothing else. If Nel wanted to convict someone to 25 years in prison he should have been solid in every department. With the money this guy and his team earned they should have done far better than settle for 10 months , such was the quality of their attack --- FAIL Bullshit prevailed. Oscar didn’t get the right sentence because of Nel.
