Oscar, I just subscribed. Thanks for the great content. I'm a 69 year old (almost 70!) surfer/paddler/cancer survivor who has taken up the surfski in the last year. I toyed with an old Valhalla many years ago but basically my journey on the water has been surfing, waveski, SUP and now the surfski. I am very pleased to get the same stoke riding waves on the surfski as I do on the other craft with the big advantage that I can get away from the crowds and ride the bumps out on the edges. And on those small point break days in Baja when I wouldn't want to surf, the ski is king! Next up for me will be downwinding. I think I'm ready.

I just purchased the Stellar Falcon in full carbon. I kind of wished I tested this ski before I made that purchase

Yes it’s a pity but as long as you learn by your mistakes. I have been designing surfski since 1976 and I don’t know anyone that has even half the experience as me. As long as you paddling it’s better the doing nothing💪🏻

Funny, I was just comparing the specs of the Falcon and the 550 for my next ski and this popped up. Then internet knows! I currently paddle the Stellar S18SX and love it. I've paddled the Falcon and find it pretty nice too. My Stellar dealer lives two blocks from me in Carlsbad, CA so it's pretty easy to go that route. I haven't yet paddled a Nelo, but I would bet it is a great ride as well. Anyhow, enjoy that Falcon and don't look back!

Oscar, do you prefer the L or would the xxl be better for someone of your size? I straddle the line of a L and XXL for weight recommendations. I feel the xxl volume might give me some room for mistakes, ie pearling?

Yes you are correct the XXL will help you if you are struggling a little in rough conditions

Yes quiet a lot it’s more stable and slightly faster from some reviews
