Great to watch these reviews; hope they keep coming until you go back into the 1960s and 1950s, at least! I think Hackman was more a comeback nom than a filler, as he and "Mississippi" got great buzz back in the day, at least for nominations.

Your opinion that actors playing disabled people is problematic is just ridiculous. Anyone can play autistic or disabled people as long as it's done with care. This year Freddie Highmore just finished playing an autistic surgeon on the show The Good Doctor and that ran for seven seasons on ABC. No backlash, no one has called that problematic.

First of many comments: Take out Mississippi Burning and replace with Who Framed Roger Rabbit. So unjust. Rain Man - bye bye and win goes to The Accidental Tourist, at least to me. Best Director - give it to Kasdan, deserved. Best Actor - take out Most of them and put in Hurt, he wins. Such an understated performance, like Hopkins in TROT Day, and deserved of his 2nd win. Best Actress - There you go Close, sorry Foster. DL my runner up for that year. Davis would be in the mix with no category fraud and bye bye Streep. ODD::: did A Cry in the Dark change it's title to Evil Angels? Rain Man would be labeled as 'problematic ' unfortunately and realistically because you cannot talk and or discuss anything these days because of 'pc' which took a hardturn into horrible 'woke' culture. I Detest Trump But I also feel you should be able to say whatever the F you want. Final point Maybe: I Really don't think, halfway through, either of you have seen The Accidental Tourist. Sooooo great but then I really don't care for the populist movies you two rave about. I guess I'll really know around supporting actress time. If it hurts your feelings to be aware of systemic racism, which is the origin of "woke," you're telling on yourself. It's pretty ironic that you want people to care about your feelings (saying whatever you want regardless of who you hurt because it makes you feel good to say it), but you don't want to have to care about others. You live in a society, and empathy matters. If you feel your self-expression is being severely curtailed by having to consider the feelings of other people, have a good hard look at yourself and wonder why that is. It wouldn't be doing that if you were a decent human being.
