This was when Sharon stone was 44. At the time , little did people know that two weeks prior she had a stroke, almost dying. What a recovery. And what a beautiful, intelligent wonderful personality she showed on the night and very brave indeed and such grace and poise. Those two husbands she divorced are not really worthy of her. Amelie and Lagaan are the more enjoyable movies, but No Man's Land is the more important movie, about the '90s Bosnian Muslim genocide, which is still relevant to this day. While I would've preferred Lagaan to win, No Man's Land is a deserving winner. 2001 was a very competitive year for the foreign film category, with Amelie, Lagaan and No Man's Land all deserving of the award.
