Never in my wildest mind, who would have thought I will become a member of the family with an ALS patient. I came back to this, sobbing. It was a difficult road. Looking back to that time, I question myself, how am I still alive after going through that? The emotional torture was hell. It is still painful. I am still in pain, everytime I close my eyes, I can only hear and see his last dying breath. Anyway, The Theory of Everything is a magnificent movie. Eddie Redmayne is a legend.

SAG and BAFTA were also pretty good clues, too. Once Eddie won those, I emotionally invested myself in his eventual Oscar victory, which is cool. Still though, Keaton's performance was better and more difficult not just because of the fact that his character was fictional (the only one of the nominees) and thus no audio or video with which to work off of (which means it's almost impossible NOT to borrow from yourself to make the character real), but also he had to juggle the script that was to be shot the way it was, and he had to coordinate with the camera's movement more than the rest of the actors had to in Birdman. Plus, Birdman being a better film doesn't hurt.

Charles Toledo As with all opinions, that's debatable. Me personally, Eddie isn't even in the top 10 of my favorite male lead performances of 2014. Neither is Cooper. And Carell is in my male supporting list because, let's face it, he's a *supporting* character in Foxcatcher alongside Ruffalo, while Tatum is the true lead. Keaton and Cumberbatch, on the other hand, *are* in my top 10.
