Very humble, honest review. Love it. I have the Offensive Security live course booked in June. I get up at 4:30 every day to study a couple of hours before work and then try and do a good four or five hours a day on the weekend. Im preparing with Ippsec and TJ Null KZbin playlist, and TCM and Tiberius priv esc courses.

Hey man, thanks for your take on it, I am ploughing through htb now, and found tj nulls list. Happy to hear that is really helpful I might go and finish that list before I start the oscp Also your right about those walk throughs they also don't show other ways to solve the box, but it is nice to look at them if solved a box another away

Hey I really liked your bit about people not showing the rabbit holes and failed attacks they make when doing walkthroughs... Sometimes its like "yeah I just guessed the password cause it seemed obvious" like dude really? just guess the password huh?

Thanks for the video, it’s very motivating. I don’t have any real IT experience either, so it’s encouraging to see someone without it get the OSCP. Have you been able to land a job now that you have the cert? How hard or easy has it been?

@@jamesnicolson6033 I had familiarity with BOF from eLearnSecurity's PTP but honestly the OSCP pdf was way easier to understand. Also check out The CyberMentors buffer overflow made easy series on KZbin

when you say completed OSCP Lab boxes (whether its 27 or 50+) is that with some hints or completely on self-solved? please elaborate on that? thx

I must have asked for hints for about 50% of the boxes :) but I learned why and added that to my methodology so I didn't make the same mistake twice

How did you get it contact w/ others in the field, was it through paying for the classes or? I only have Sec+ currently and my networking is a little rough so just ordered a book on CCNA. Just wondering how you grew your connections, currently I'm just in bookmark hell.

I don't have any luck with code, Bash or Python, would you say Its worth even attempting OSCP? I have a strong background on Linux MetaSploit, Web App PT, Privilege Escalation , but no real experience coding. I'm about to sign up but the coding aspect feels like its too much, I can understand short lines and some simple code, but can't write any... Thanks.

Hey... I just used a PC with VMWare and I think I allocated maybe 4GB Ram to the VM? I used a 2018 x86 distro of Kali.

Man, I went through every fundamental coding course and linux but i am definitely not an expert programmer where im coding apps and stuff.. Start with eLearn PTS - and then PTP that will give you a jump into PWK OSCP - good luck ! You can do it,

@@markpfeffer7487 Honestly it sounds like you have a solid background... I would just jump into it. Maybe consider the eJPT first to get your toes wet... with diligent studying you should be able to crush it in ~ 3 weeks or so
