Very entertaining videos. Love OSE. One thing. When exploring a dungeon the movement per turn is the base movement rate, not the encounter movement rate. So 60 feet per turn rather than 20. Keep the vids coming. Thanks.

Hey thanks for the comment! I found the movement rule on page 222. Thanks for that. The boys appreciate you! They will cover more ground now with less checks! I’m shouting you out on the next one.

This is great, man! I am currently playing solo OSE in almost the exact same way and was going crazy thinking i was the only one! Really love your approach

Awesome man. What classes are in your party?

Well we've already had a lot of fatalities😅. Currently 2 fighters, a 1hp thief and a wizard. I'm using my daughter's playmobil to represent the characters which is working weirdly well.

I also use OSE to play solo. 👍🏼 I use it mainly to find bugs and unforeseen twists that could break the story and game in my homebrew adventure modules that I use for my group. It's also a great way to run through published old-school modules from the 80s and 90s and discover hidden gems that aren't popular.

@@lionelhutz3142 are the old modules formatted so that they don’t give spoilers as you go from room to room? If so, I will definitely try that!

@@Scutifer_Mike Nope...but a quick read-through beforehand will give you a list & description of monsters that the author created. I take all of them out and put those into a random encounter generator to keep the flavor of the original adventure 👍🏼

The way you “Gullygugs” at 31:05??? I’m rolling. 😂 I’m on my second watch through of this whole series because I’ve learned a ton about how some of the less well known rules actually come into play in OSE. Keep up the good work!

Breaking down doors isn't too hard to remember - the wording from B/X was 1-2, apply your Str mod to the range of success, but 1s always succeed and 6s always fail. The wording from BECMI was 5-6 is a success, apply your str mod to the roll, 1s always fail, 6s always succeed. The odds are the same. This is one area where OSE changing how it was presented did NOT make it easier, by getting you into the habit of consulting a table in the book, or cluttering up your character sheet.

This is pretty cool. Thanks for sharing. What is that book you’re using for the random dungeons? I missed the earlier episodes.

I think going through a secret door should increase the chance for finding treasure, otherwise there isn't really a reward for finding it.
