A fun watch! Just chugging along through your backlog to catch up. Curious on the 50/50 roll for the fortification (and I suppose your whole table you used for populating the hex). Was this your home brew table or from the rules/a supplement? Either way, I like it for populating an area. And you did some fun world building to link it all together.

I use the third party supplement On Downtime and Demenses to generate the hex. It has a table in the back that helps populate a hex. I really appreciate all your support and I hope you are enjoying the series so far!

@@Scutifer_Mike rad! I have On Downtime & Démenses (OD&D), but never realized it had a hex generation section. I'm certainly gonna use it for my solo AD&D campaign. Cheers for that. Hi Mike another awesome video! 2 questions where do you get your blank hex map and do you suggest creating hex maps as you play solo or make it first and then play?

Thanks for watching! One of my players gave me that map, but I’ve used several from just googling blank hex maps. I think it’s easier to map the hex first and explore after, but play it any way that feels right. So much flexibility in this system.

Loving the show, digging the format and really looking forward to more. I'm curious if you've seen Bandit's Keep's Actual Play series? I think the only thing I'm uncertain about is the 1:1 time format you've got going. I know they used to do that 'back in the day', but my understanding was it wasn't so strict; more a case of the days between sessions were what dictated the passing of time in-game, as opposed to the passage of time in-game dictating the time in real life. That being said, I am fully for tracking time in the fiction and ensuring that folks remain 'out of use' when doing things like downtime or if they're currently on an excursion. Curious if its something you thought about, and if you have considered what you'll do if travel to a location will take more than a day? Will you wait and upload another video, or will the real-time/game-time discrepency be handwaved in such situations? (although I have to admit I'm not sure if you'd get any such situations using the hex scale your on, so good catch there) Stay cool, and may you always be encumbered with gold and gems!

I love Bandit’s Keep! Daniel is a major inspiration for this channel for sure. For 1:1 time, in our next episode, Ruby-May, our Druid, will be fully exploring the hex. It will take around a week or more to fully map the region, and we will do all of this in one session. She will be locked in “Time Jail” for a couple of weeks (early November probably). I’ll play different adventurers during that time. In summary, you can advance the clock far in the future, but that real time must be paid up eventually.

Now, I’m not convinced that 1:1 is the only way to play, but I really like how it encourages me to try different characters and tackle different areas of play.

I’m looking at page 20 of the Player’s Tome and it says the Wisdom bonus is applied to magical effects. I’m not sure that applies to the save vs spells that Augustus made. I’d like it to 😂 but doing philanthropy isn’t inherently magical.
