Everyone suffered Jimmy's consequences but himself. Jimmy got everything he wanted, control, a title, people at least pretending to respect and follow him. He got the easy way out while believing he'd actually accomplished something and redeemed himself. Curly has to live with the consequences of Jimmy's weaknesses and those of his own good intentions, albeit naive ones. That is if he's ever found.

I mean, his shift from condescending Curly at the start, to admonishing him while saying he won’t give up on him, to finally admitting he messed up and that Curly was “the better man”, was pretty much a process of his delusions being stripped down bare. What remained, though, was his final cope, which Polle brought up when it asked him why he still cared about “him”, Curly. Curly was his last shot at trying to prove that he wasn’t a monster for all the things he did.

It would be very on-brand if Curly wakes up inside the pod 20 years later trapped and alone in the dark, because help never came from Pony Express. Regardless if he's rescued or doomed, I think the point either way is Jimmy's selfish actions still manage to create ripples of prolonged suffering in the universe even decades later. Hell, Curly having to continue to LIVE after this whole story might be even worse. What Swansea did to Daisuke was a mercy.

The thing that really drove home just how VILE Jimmy is was finding Anya's body after learning why she wanted the gun and was nervous around Jimmy. She believed that the pills were better than whatever Jimmy would have done to her.

The only other thing Jimmy hallucinates about is his fear of his own baby. But if you notice, he never feels ANY guilt over Anya. He doesn't even acknowledge her corpse in the med bay. That's definitely an intentional detail from the devs showing how little Jimmy respects/cares about her, he literally only feels bad about the MEN he killed. Also I really don't think he feels guilty about his baby either, those hallucinations highlight how much Jimmy fears his own child (and clearly that's why he crashed the ship in the first place to try and kill it).

The "where did all the bodies go" while she was carrying Curly couldn't have been better timing. Personally, I believe the other 3 crewmates were already phantoms, haunting him, as he brought Curly to the table. When Jimmy carries Curly in to the Mess, there is _only_ Jimmy and Curly. Curly doesn't see the other three; only Jimmy sees them, because there's nothing left of them after the ship ran out of food.

​@@soliopyThere's a lot of symbolism involving horses in the game(the name of the ship, the company, Jimmy's hallucinations of horses and his attraction to them), but in the X ray sequence the skeleton looks like a foal, implying Jimmy sees his child as a horse. Horses in mythology symbolise animalistic urges, fertility and non consensual acts, but horses with a human parent especially symbolise leading people to their deaths. Achilles horse in the Iliad, Xanthus, has a god and a horse as parents and, when given a voice by Hera, the goddess of women and childbirth, he prophesized how Achilles would die. I think to Jimmy the pregnancy was an absolute sign of his impending death, which may be reasonable as he may have committed previous crimes and was on parole or something. We don't know if curly was completely lying to Jimmy when reassuring him because he didn't want him to do something brash.

I found the 2nd most shocking thing to be the complete lack of THAT thing from ALL of the times we see into Jimmy's subconscious. My brain still can't wrap around the man causing all of this because of the baby *instead of the mom*. However, first place has to go to the high likelihood that people on the dev team *knew* a Jimmy.

@@The_Hanged-Man all of the above he was blinded to his own beliefs, so he was dense (example: him thinking that he atoned for all his sins at the end) psychopath, because he is unstable and violent (example: him causing the ship to crash) narcissistic, because he thought that he made little to no mistakes, and that he's better than everyone (example: his ego as captain, and even as co-pilot) worse, because he is a rapist and was known to be proficient in drugging people, so anya might not have been the first victim as well as a manipulative toxic gaslighter (example: him making everyone think that curly was the one who crashed the ship) also yeah, the game shows that jimmy didn't care about anya at all and regretted nothing about what he did; his only fear was of the baby and his only "regrets" were about the other men on the ship; curly, daisuke, and swansea (from the environmental storytelling)

One detail that stuck with me is after you finish the segment shown at the end of the video, it cuts back to the dinner table. Only the plate where Jimmy was sitting is empty, but dirty. That means that Jimmy either fed Curly his piece, or actually ate it himself. This wasn't some shock scene for the sake of horror; Jimmy actually "took care of it."

I have mixed feeling about Mouthwash. One the one hand, it is a very well made horror game, and it clearly was made by competent people. It does something not many horror stuff does: It tells horror from the perspective of the "monster", something that I've only seen being done to some success in "The Shining" book by Stephen King. One the other hand, I think it relies heavily on shock value type of horror, which is not something I particulary enjoy. This is probably the only horror game that would not make Botan laugh. Again, this is my personal opinion about the game, I'm sure others like it, but I'm still on the fence about it.

I was a little disappointed to find out that you couldn't actually kill Curly with the drugs earlier. I think it would have been neat if doing that caused the crew to quickly turn on you resulting a "bad" ending, only for you to finish the full story and realize that was actually the good ending.
