And then I saw a video called "A mother struggles to use Windows 8 for the first time" which was your first video on this channel (and you eventually renamed to "Mum tries out Windows 8"). I actually subscribed a while later, but I've known about your channel since it only had that one video, and it's really nice to see someone initially not interested in computers at all learn a lot about them.

Hi. Michael here, several years later, STILL embarrassed that the virus crashed. Can confirm that I did, in fact, switch to Arch "Linyucks," and it is not yucky. I love it. Do I still write ShiftOS? Check the previous video, also, MEMZ doesn't truely kill, it just overwrites the MBR, then does payloads to simulate the effects... If you manage to rewrite the Windows MBR after being MEMZ'd, then you'll find it works just fine, with MEMZ still where you ran it, as if nothing happened.

Mystic Myrtle No offense but that sounds like what a kid would do. One time when I was 10 (I’m still 10), I downloaded this ‘thing’ from whatever website, I forgot. And then everything started going different colors, just like MEMZ but real and not fake (MEMZ is fake because it doesn’t do anything to harm your computer) and then soon did a blue screen of death. I looked it up on KZbin how to fix it. None of the videos worked. So I fixed it my self by using some of my programming skill I’ve gained before and fixed it.

Very cute mice. I think if you hold ctrl while you click restart, you can boot into recovery mode, and type that command at the command prompt to delete all that without the "Access Denied" messages. That would break it harder. If it was a UEFI VM, it should offer to boot recovery, and run system restore too. So I think your VM is either in legacy BIOS mode, or just skipped the full, regular Windows 8 install. I've never installed Windows 8 though, only fixed it, or taken it off.
