Well, Tarik appears to believe he has stumbled upon a delay tactic with this Competency hearing/results. He wants to "represent himself"...so begrudgingly acquiesced to the test, which likely showed him technically "competent". So, the next time, he argues that the Competency test should allow him to represent himself, and that he would be basically dismissing that initial PD. Then he shows up with yet another PD, who of course needs time to get up to speed, but then Dey starts back into how the competency results and the Judge indicated he could represent himself. *So why would he show up, with yet another PD, if he had arranged to represent himself?*
@synthias559415 күн бұрын
How many times does a defendant get to delay court by changing public defenders? There should be a max of 🤔 2. After that, defendant hires his own. When relying on taxpayers to foot the bill, I say, you get what you get and you don’t throw a fit. 2 chances for a “good” and “free” lawyer is enough. Public defenders are good lawyers too. They passed the BAR. What is the sov cit’s super power?
