If it was pressurised, it would have been spraying out as he cut. My guess is the touch ignited a flammable gas causing the explosion. The part of "water" coming out full force was added out of context.

I supervised the BLS Occupational Injury and Illness Survey from 1980 to 1985 and did a lot of field work across the country prior to that. Part of my job was reading over 7000 fatality reports a year and certifying them as OSHA recordable. Workers and their employers were both too talented at finding ways to get killed on the job.

Pretty sure that was fake. A pair of jeans would not stop the debris before it broke the skin. And in that case the last thing on your mind would be to grab your phone and start filming. Much easier to break off a chunk of a disc and manually insert it in the pants Note also that the disc is loose on the machine, that is most likely because he ffirst made the partial cut with a good disc. I had a big grinder disc explode on me half a life ago ,wich luckily had a guard installed and the nut holding the disc refused to come off after it happened so the tool became unusable.

So a coworker of mine shows up at a job site I'm visiting (Mfg. Rep.) with no, hard hat, no safety shoes, and no safety glasses. I tell him to go to the foreman's trailer to get safety equipment as I'm filming and he is in for big sh1t if management see's it. He comes back latter with all the right safety stuff and says the job foreman thanked him for the five reflective yellow safety vests, as a gov inspector was on the way and his crew didn't have them. I put him in for a safety award back at the company and he won $100. Mr. Safety...LOL

I work at factory, and we had monthly meetings with OSHA lecture. Safety glasses were a most and steel toes were also encouraged. Hard hats were not necessary since we work in doors and nothing hanging over our heads. Usually, accidents happen, when necessary, steps are not taken.
