I wouldn't call 1938 a better time. Better time for music, yes, but being in the middle of a world war isn't exactly amazing compared to how we have it now

Yes it was a better time because everybody knew it was war. Nowadays we have quiet wars and only 1 % of the world knows it's war....multiple wars on so many levels.

Dave Kennell WWII Started in 1939. 1938 wasn’t in the middle of a world war. I agree with you though, the Nazi rise to power was not pretty.

The Autobahn was a fantastic achivement! But in those days there were no fences on the sides, preventing wild animals to enter the road. Pretty dangerous, especially in the dark.

It is images like this that tell the fallacy of a nation bent on war, entering the war with logistics reliant on the 1h.p. horse, not a SINGLE battleship, never had an aircraft carrier, never had a strategic bomber only long range tactical and the "invasion of Poland" was nothing more than answering th numerous plebescites of some 85% demanding reunification with the country from which Germans had been seperated by the Versailles Treaty which wsa no such thing but strongarmed enforcement.
