I'm from El Salvador and you came during a very special time. The country is been transformed by Bukele and there's a lot of positive energy in the air. Everyone is excited and looking forward to the future. If you would've come before Covid your trip would've been different.

It's just that in El Salvador, we are always happy to see foreigners. It's nothing new, when people from other countries visit us in El Salvador, we make them feel special and we turn our attention to them because we love that they visit us and want them to come back. I remember when I was a kid, myself and other children always greeting foreigners, we really enjoyed interacting with them. It was so fascinating to learn a little bit of each country and their cultures and all people's personalities. I'm glad you all had fun.

My dad also came to Canada cause of the war, but he hasn’t returned and I’ve never been. Aun día queremos ir al país. Ojalá que Bukele está haciendo las cosas que está diciendo. While the gang problem is definitely a lot better, I’ve seen reports about there still being a lot of issues with them despite Bukele saying he’s got them all under control. On top of that, rewriting the constitution wether he was doing a good job or not is kind of sketchy. I’m always skeptical of a darker side when it comes to cases like these, but hopefully I’m wrong about being skeptical. Still I wanna go at some point with my dad.

There's a couple of other people who do hiking trips around that area too, and La ruta de la flores is a very popular area on that side of El Salvador. The beaches are great heading towards the pacific. Glad you guys had fun!

Loved that trip & can't wait to see what Cyprus looks like now. An American friend & I drove all around ghe southern part of the island in the late 80s! It was amazing one end to the other on one day. Obviously being arrogant & dyslexic, I found a "shot cut" through the Troodos mountaind: we just kept climbing- in the tiny car- until the sun went down & we were stuck in the dark in middle if nowhere, we'd been following a graded road to nowhere. We went to an early sleep, waking up to find just how high up we were, trees below were inches high! It took a 48 point turn to reverse & drove around until we came to an army camp, with hundred of naked men in huge Army boots were doing their exercises,we were terrified we'd just be "disappeared-"as that was the vibe! We finally made it bake onto blacktop & my sisters home, they never believed our explanation!. The coast line was beautiful & just kept changing. We then went& did some tacky nightclubs. At the end we caught a flight to Egypt & had a great adventure. So sweet to see you interacting with the girls, you really will make the most wonderful fathers;your children will I'll BE SO LUCKY. As always looking forward to next trip. Fly safe, enjoy every second & thank you for sharing your trip with all of us,you're awesome. Very best wishes to you&yours💥👊👏👏👏👌❤💯💙💙💯👋⭐'s💯✌^%%%٪

I'm happy for the people in El Savador, glad things are improving, there are still a lot of things to work on, but safety and peace of mind outside is already a big positive change! Maybe one day I will visit your country, peace!

Oskar and Dan, thank you so much for this small vlog of my country. You guys showed the new reality which, if you ask me, I take no matter the controversy. I had to walk all my college years the thru same streets you walked, (in the capital's downtown where cathedral is) and had to do with with eyes on my back cause the security was non existent back then. To see foreigners have such beautiful words and experiences is more than enough for me.

to give an opinion about the security regime that El Salvador currently lives in, you have to know a lot or at least be Salvadoran. Believe me, no one is imprisoned for their appearance, or for being innocent.
