We are Oskar & Dan, two boys from Sweden who decided to change the course of our lives, drop out of university and live life full-time. We're planning to visit every country in the world before we're 30 with an initial goal of 100 before the end of 2022. By the time of posting this video, we're both 24 :)
Brazil was country #80/197🌍
We started our trip in São Paulo before heading down to Iguazu Falls and the Paraguay city of Ciudad Del Este. From there, we flew up to the original capital Salvador da Bahia and spent a few days on the local island Ilha Itaparica. We then finished the trip with a week in the fascinating world-famous city of Rio de Janeiro. All in all, our three weeks in Brazil were a blast and we can't wait to return!

@@LEOGUARNIERI Nas Olimpíadas de Atenas 2004, Londres 2012 e Rio 2016 o Brasil ficou bem a frente do Canadá, fora que em Tokyo 2020 o Brasil ficou a frente de muitos países ricos como Espanha, Nova Zelândia, Noruega , Suíça, Coreia do Sul que deixou de ser TOP TEN e ficou em 16 lugar na classificação, isso não acontecia desde Seul 88., Da América Latina Brasil e Cuba foram os melhores países, Cuba ficou em 14 lugar. Cuba foi potência olímpica até Atenas 2004, depois decaiu, mas ainda assim ficou a frente do Brasil até Londres 2012, mas ficou atrás do Brasil no Rio 2016 e em Tokyo 2020 devido aos investimentos do governo na preparação dos atletas

Thank you (takk?) for posting this! I LOVE Brasil. Spent time there in the 1970's as univ. student from California. I lived right in the middle of Sao Paulo (Praca 14-bis). very noisy...very exciting! Loved it. Loved the food, the music (still listen to MPB from that era) and so many people were so nice to me!! Some anti-Americanism....but that's not unreasonable and nobody was violent. I'll enjoy checking out your other videos. Oh to be young again! Boa sorte e boas viagens.

14:04 It depends on the neighborhood. Some neighborhoods are more German like Moema, Brooklyn and region there are even German parties like oktoberfest, mainfest, broklinfest etc., others more Slavic like Vila Zelina and region, known as Eastern Europe, it has typical Slavic foods etc..

São Paulo's metro is indeed clean, but it's nowhere near as big (and thus useful) as the NYC metro, so it's not uncommon for it to get overcrowded. Well, also you guys only used Line 4, which is by far the cleanest lol, but the other lines are quite clean and pleasant to use as well (if they're not too crowded).

If I ever get to Brazil, Sao Paulo was not a city I'd have gone out of my way to see. The population density would intimidate me. It looks good however and with that great metro more doable than I'd have expected. Brazil has always struck me as a spectacular country with a fascinating history and very beautiful inhabitants if a little dangerous. I hope I make it there soon and that Bolsonaro is history by then.

Eu sou de Brasília, moro no centro. Aqui, por ser uma cidade planejada, a fiação é quase 100% subterrânea. Realmente contribui bastante pra estética da cidade. Mas isso não precisa ser algo exclusivo pras cidades planejadas, existem umas cidades em Portugal, por exemplo, que a fiação é ao ar livre, mas ela não fica desordenada aleatoriamente que nem a maioria das cidades aqui do Brasil, elas ficam organizadas, todas juntas em um "filamento" único, que fica fixado na lateral das casas e tal. Se não me engano a cidade de Évora é assim, procura depois no Google pra vc ver.

Don't believe in everything you've heard about Brazil. Of course, there are a bunch of dangerous places, but you just have to search well which place you should and shouldn't go. I am Brazilian, I live in São Paulo since I was born and I have never been robbed (my family either). Trust me! ;)

In our experience it's a lot safer than even most Brazilians would let on😉 It depends on the neighborhood, just like everywhere!

If you're around touristic areas, it's just fine. I think São Paulo (and Brazil, in general) feels a lot like the big US cities, in terms of safety. There are places you should definately avoid, just know what these are

São Paulo is by far the safest state. Rio might be dangerous though so you should be more careful

You guys said you love Southeast Asia. I am Brazilian but I live in Thailand for 4 years. I am impressed that you found Vegan food here. It is really not commom. In Thailand, for example, they put Fish sauce in everything.

@@OskarandDan where? I live here and I never see Vegan food anywhere. Not even vegetarian food is easy to find, except for Indian restaurants (which most Thai people dislike). I used to work in a school and their cafeteria had no vegetarian food at all. And they didn't allow the teachers to go outside to eat. If they were vegetarian, they had to bring their own food. I know an Indian family who gave up to be vegetarian because of that. They started eating fish. Maybe because you have been to touristic areas where the variety of food is definitely better than in 'normal' areas.

2 things I discovered about you guys. Surprising you don't travel with an umbrella and that you don't drink alcohol unless your trying a local drink. You were in Sao Paulo for 5 days and it still seamed like a whirlwind tour of the city.
