Over 60 years ago when in my mid teens my parents took me to a social group that they attended weekly and their married friends walked in with 'SHE' being their daughter and i immediately fell in love with her and have been ever since. However i incorrectly considered that SHE was so far above me that i did not have the right to even talk to her and so i didn't - except for a casual hello even though i was nearly fainting with excitement being near to her. This went on for many weeks and then one day she never came back again. I eventually married and went to live in another country and when my marriage failed i the tried for many many years to contact her and then in this last year i finally heard from her cousin who was located for me that SHE had died in a car accident some 25 years ago and therefore i would never have full closure - and even though i never really knew her intimately SHE was the love of my life and always will be. I love you Joy T and know that i will till the day i die and i will forever regret the missed opportunity of knowing you. The words of this song are from me to you Joy T even though somewhat a bit too late. Terry C.

Light a candle for her & hold her with a relaxed warmth in your heart, brother, you both deserve it. What you saw & felt about her was within you all along. Please, breathe long, slow & deep, there’s no loss here, she then lived her life as a sovereign being then left. She’s done her job. Look after what was brought forth from within you, gently & always, speak to it like it’s a child that’s just come into the World, it’s nothing short of precious & one reason why you’re here. Give it unconditional love, reassurance & it, in turn, will look after you. Don’t waste this gift the both of you have conjured up man, it’s rare, you’re healing the both of you & then some… bless you brother, from one who has been there & learned….42 years later I could speak my peace. You’re not alone, with you, big hug from afar. Hey, trust me, it is doable (it has a way of knowing how to heal itself & just awaits the right season despite the passing of the years), there is peace & a ‘wholeness,’ then you’ll know why it all came to pass the way it did…🙏💜

One of the great true one hit wonders. Osmosis never really existed, just a bunch of guys who recorded a song together. There was no album, no follow up, nothing. Nonetheless this was a huge hit in Australia.

Sorry, hate to be late to the party, but that's not actually true. I actually saw them perform in Johannesburg in 1975. They were actually a South African rock band, who had a hard time getting their music out because of the Apartheid sanctions. Actually almost every group in South Africa back then had that problem. That's why there's such a strange history about them and why the song only made it to Australia and nowhere else. With Sanctions, they had to be kind of anonymous with their biggest "hit", and not really say anything about the fact they were South African. That's also why there there was no album or follow up. They were actually a pretty good hard rock band that became popular in South Africa for their performances more than their songs. This was their "power ballad" taken from a long studio time demo recording in 1974 of an Italian song. That's why there's a false history about them I guess.

@@11matt11 thanks for the info about this amazing band it was a shame that it only made it to Australia because of what happened in south Africa at the time because if not this band would be world famous. Do u know if they are still going now or anything about them now ?
@11matt114 жыл бұрын
@@bevanjackson2694 It's been many years since I was back in South Africa. My Dad went for mediation talks there. They were big in SA in the mid 1970's, but couldn't make a lot of money I think because of Apartheid. They were similar to the band "Sweet" in England, where their music was much more hard rock than the music that made it to radio. But what a great concert band. Great musicians.

4KQ in Brisbane, Australia plays this sometimes. I really like it. It's haunting and the lead vocalist has a good voice. It was a hit in Australia and it's good to hear it in the car while driving instead of all the songs that get played over and over.
@vk2ig5 жыл бұрын
4BK used to play it sometimes on Saturday nights in the early / mid 80s. (That was before they did a massive format change, and then 4KQ took over that listenership in '85 IIRC.) I haven't listened to commercial radio in a long time, and last time I heard it played was a few years ago on the KIX 106.3 (Canberra) Saturday night program.
