I'm 39 and was diagnosed with crohn's in 2007, however I had symptoms for a few years before diagnosis. This disease completely upended my life and is so severe I had to quit my career as a chef and move in with my parents. Many many emergency room visits and countless doctor visits later, and the only thing which helps me live a relatively normal life is opioid medication and healthy diet. I've run the gamut of medication (I tried at least 35 different types of all sorts from corticosteroids, intense anti-inflammatory injections as well as supplements & probiotics) and thankfully have not reached the point where surgical resection is necessary, but I can't begin to describe just how much of a game changer the opioid medication has been for my quality of life and pain management. The most frustrating aspect of my disease has been finding a doctor who is willing to prescribe what I need in the amount that I need due to the crackdown on opiates by the pharmaceutical boards. There was a 2 year period where my previous doctor retired and I couldn't find a doctor who would prescribe the necessary medication, and those two years were the most hellish and depressing of my life having to live with full blown symptoms almost daily with zero relief. I'm sad to admit that I contemplated suicide during that time because I was wasting away and constantly in excruciating pain, opioid medication doesn't just help relieve the pain it also slows down my bowels from needed to use the bathroom 6 times a day and it helps retain nutrients and stop weight loss (in that two year period I had lost 90 pounds). Thankfully I have a decent doctor now who prescribes the only thing that helps me, however the dosage still isn't enough but it's far and away better than nothing at all. I pray that all of those who suffer from this disease can find a good doctor who listens to their needs and helps them manage it to where you have actual good quality of life!

I am 43 and had Crohn's since age 13. At age 15 I had all but 4 inches of my large intestines removed. I was on 80mg of Prednisone and six Mercaptopurine tablets daily for two years. Here in Pennsylvania I've never been able to get pain meds for my Crohn's only for post operative conditions. Even with my 3 slipped discs and Hip / SI Joint degradation did they start me on very low pain medications when I was 42. I am now on Entyvio IV infusions since I became resistant to Humira from the Insurance making me wait weeks to get my meds. I am also currently receiving my sixth (as of today) Iron infusion for blood loss. It's rough for sure, and it's a lot to deal with so stay strong.

Whenever I think of this incurable and unbearable illness, I think of my friend who has this illness. He's had this illness since he was 16 years old. And what keeps going on in my mind of him enduring this illness and that there's no cure for the illness and sometimes I feel emotionally upset. But here's something that helps me stay positive about him and the hopes of him being miraculously cured, healed and recovered is that I have him on my Holy Rosary prayer list. There were a couple of times when his illness was escalating out of control, he started getting emotionally upset and started crying. And I couldn't stand him being upset. So I gave him a few hugs just to assure him that everything is going to be fine.

One important treatment detail missing from this vid is the incredible utility and benefit of biologics, especially going on them early. They're expensive and insurance companies don't wanna shell out for them but drugs like infliximab and adalimumab are game changers for crohn's. Also the side-effect profile for these drugs is significantly better than some of their contemporaries and they work really well with other immunomodulatory drugs such as the aminosalicylates or the thiopurines.

I might have this. I was having some pain and discomfort, and after a colonoscopy they found ulceration around my terminal ileum. They also said that my blood test came back with markers for Crohn’s. But after a diet switch up I haven’t had any pain or discomfort since then. And now the doctors are unsure again as to my condition. I’m going back now for a follow up colonoscopy. I really hope I wake up and they tell me I’m alright, but I’m preparing for anything at this point.

I'm at a loss at this point, I've had crohn's for 5 years now I lost all muscle and fat I had built up since I was a gym rat. I've been hospitalized 6 times now and theres no light at the end of the tunnel. My doctors have never prescribed me any medication for crohns, the pain is constant and EXTREME torture every day of my life, I cant sleep because I have to constantly get up to shit my brains out 5 times a night but it's only ever diarrhea. I cant sit for more than 2 hours without my back aching forcing me to lay down because lack of muscle or strength because I lost 50 pounds and now I'm 6,2 120lbs, my ass hurts when I sit in a car or chair for more than 30 mins. I eat like a fucking horse sometimes upwards of 4K calories a day but cannot get past 120lbs no matter how much I eat and workout. My doctor tried to get me on infusions but my insurance denied it several times, my GI was livid and couldnt believe my extreme case was denied atleast 3 times. Fast forward I haven't been able to work for years I'm broke with no money and no insurance, I'm tired of every waking moment being tortured with pain, discomfort, lack of energy, and most of all shitty quality of life, I cant fish anymore, i cant workout or train MMA anymore, I CANT EVEN HAVE A FUCKING LIFE AT THIS POINT. I'm just short of suicide and I'm at the point where I rather just not exist anymore, I hate myself, I have no money and cant work, I cant perform any of my hobbies because I'm weak and broke, my dog is my only light and I'm crying just thinking about leaving him hes like my child I love him more than anything but my parents will take care of him. If you are going through crohns FIGHT BACK, i failed in my mission to fight back unfortunately but do not let yourself become like me DONT GIVE UP.

I am here to learn about crohns. What helps me with pain in joins and also memory fog was removal of gluten. After four days I already noticed my mind clear and energy. I used to have itchy skin also. Plus bloated stomach. Since giving up gluten which is now four years. I do not have those issues. I hope this helps you. Keep a food diary and try to track when your joins are sore. I would have a sore back but never ever have had that since I stopped gluten. Good luck with your health

Now i am 26 with Crohn's. It's affect my life with fatigue, chest, abdominal, and back pain, also cause me to malnutrition no matter how much i eat even clean diet. The condition also destroy my relationship and my career. I don't have money rn and good relationship, my sister and my brother also near family can't help for money to support my condition.. I think i need like to suicide with the condition.. If you have good support from family and people that know well your condition, then crohn's disease can be managed well, not like me.. I hope can i cure with crohn's but it's impossible 😢

Lol brother, I am 17 and going into college next month. I am malnourished, in pain, live far from family in hostel. I keep being made fun of because of my body (obviously) and I struggle with focusing. But suicide, no thanks. Killing myself because of some intestine inflammation, what a waste of life. But I understand the emotions you might have while writing this. So I will pray for your health.

Thanks for sharing! Gut health is so important for overall health! A survey from 2018 of 71,000 Americans found that 61% had at least 1 bothersome gut issue! The most common gut symptom was acid reflux or GERD, then abdominal pain, then bloating.

I found this to be the most comforting video on the day of my emergency Right Hemicolectomy surgery... I was undiagnosed at the time. Vomited 14 times on the night before hospital out of no where. Found this video through wikipedia after hospital Doctors thought it might be Crohn's. I thought it may have been Cancer with the amount of pain I was in.

The problem of Crohn's is the blood. I treated it through the blood. I took herbs from us from Egypt. I bought it. It was called a cholesterol solvent and a liver fat solvent. I was cured of Crohn's. It simply means the colon is not the actual problem. The whole story is blood. recover .#.
